Good thing they reproduced the double wishbone front suspension layout. Something that was introduced as GT-specific suspension setup in 992 GT3, replacing the usual McPherson Strut on other, non-GT department 911s and emulating the setup they have been using on the 991 RSR GTE racecar.

Sweet! I will have to get one to build a replica of my cousins’ green GT3 RS and one to build for myself.

That's a completely different car.

And one that doesn't exist in any kit form. The Alpha Models GT3RS is close, but still not the right model year. But the Tamiya kit is an entire chassis platform newer than the one he wants.

To be fair you can get 992 GT3 RS in PTS Yellow Green, which is a shade that is quite close to Lizard Green on this 991.2 GT3 RS so there's that.

Oh and 992 actually uses the same chassis as 991. Much like how 996 and 997 uses the same chassis, ditto 964 to 993.

The Dodge Charger uses the same chassis as a Mercedes Benz E-class and they both come in black, but they are not the same car. Just like a Camaro SS is not the same car as a Camaro ZL-1, etc., etc..

Do you know when these will be released?

Should be in stock just about everywhere this week. Your individual mileage may vary depending on where your hobby shop/vendor gets their Tamiya kits.

Be aware Tamiya has sold out the initial production run, so if you want one in 2024, grab it when you see it or you'll be waiting into the 1Q of 2025 for a restock.
