Hello again friends! This one has been on my work bench since early April, but I finally found the time to finish a few final details, complete it, and present it to you. Built fairly box stock with the addition of a few personal touches to make it unique. First off, I removed all the molded-on body emblems. Then, I wanted an authentic exterior color that would've been available from the factory, so in this case I chose "Butternut Yellow", over a black vinyl bucket seat interior. For visual appeal and to help the exterior color pop, I opted to add a factory available deluxe black vinyl top, along with the optionally available lower body side stripes. Next, photoetched emblems were placed on the body, and everything but the vinyl top was locked in place under a coat of clear. I wanted a little more visual interest, so I added the rear side quarter windows in their up positions as well.  The engine was detailed with ignition wiring, fuel line and heater noses, throttle return spring, and various vacuum and crankcase ventilation hoses, along with an aftermarket Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold for that official "Cars-n-Coffee" custom home built high performance engine garage gearhead mechanic look. I wanted fresh out the restoration shop looks with the undercarriage and suspension components and added a set of American Racing "Torq Thrust D" wheels wrapped with Firestone "Wide Oval" rubber to complete the look, along with the use of Bare Metal foil and a little Molotow chrome pen to bring out detail. I also stripped and painted body color the filler panel between the lower grill and front bumper, a step that should be done for visual accuracy to the real car. I really enjoyed how this build turned out. Thanks again for stopping and taking a look, so until next time...happy modeling!

Beautiful build, James.  A friend in high school had a similar car - it seemed like the 396 just filled the engine compartment, first time I saw it.  Your model reminded of that all over again - terrific detailing!

That looks beautiful.  I had a friend give me one of the older kits as a Christmas present a few years ago, but it didn't have the emblem decals.  Been trying to find a set ever since then so I could build it.  :(

The details you got on the body, interior and engine really knock this out.

It looks very very similar to one I've seen at car shows around here.

While the color and vinyl top are not really my thing, this is a very sweet build.

Very nicely done

Beautiful looking paint and vinyl roof. The upgraded body trim really ads to the appearance. The interior and engine detailing is realistic looking. Like the American wheels.

Saweet! Butternut yellow was such a great color for that time period. The black vinyl roof looks great, engine and compartment area are very nice, mag wheels look great. Really well done.
