Well , finally I think I have gone about as far as I can go. My real rides are always kept pretty clean. So that’s why this one is clean ( just out of the wash bay ) . This truck took about 6 months off and on …. A fair bit of after market with a VERY expensive 3 d printed highly derailed Detroit 60 Series engine. Probably the most detailed engine I have ever built,  beautiful 3d print plus alot of extra stuff I have added. I plumbed the full power steering, all air system as well. Added a full CTM photo etch upgrade as well. The color is a Model Master enamel Ice Blue Metallic. Also did a tiny bit of scratch building by making a metal tubing fuel filler neck and scratched the exhaust tips. I know the 5 th wheel is of the European style but I have seen this style here a couple times so As I though the Holland 5th wheel from an old AMT kit looked a bit small so I used the kit one and relocated the release handle.  Lots of little things that took a fair bit of time to try and get right. No where near perfect and lots of little things that I see I’m not really happy with , but near the end she started to fight me a bit. So here she is and many thanks for all you mind words and encouragement during my build , I hope the final result is acceptable for this great forum

Looks great to me.  I'm my own worst critic, I don't know of any build I've done that there isn't something I feel I didn't do right or would do differently next time.

That is good to know I’m not alone. Always striving to do better is what keeps us going I suppose. And yes a few things to be done differently next time. Part of my thing is, I get in a rut and keep doing the same thing over and over, then finally the light goes on ! Its the old dog new trick thing ?

Never knew there was such a thing as "European-style fifth wheels", but I love the attention to detail! Well-done!

Thanks Dylan. Yes there actually is a different style of fifth wheel over seas the style that is in the kit that I used is much more round than the Holland ones and as mentioned I have seen a few like this one here in B. C.  Thanks for the kind words and dipping in for a look.

Great looking truck, Jeff!  I like the profile photos, especially the last one, with the lighting from the side - very realistic shots!  Subtle colour combination, lots of detail added in - well done!

A great build. I enjoyed watching it come together. The upgraded Series 60 and all of the photo etched details really sets it apart.

Carl, Brian,Larry,Victor, many thanks for your kind comments and following along with my latest build. This was to be kind of a fun build when Mrs asked if we bought a truck what would we get… took that opportunity to do a ‘free’ build. Cathy chose the color and I got a little carried away with the A/M . I think the 3d engine ‘may’ be a one off ….?….. but on the up side it does give me the full kit engine I can play with in another kit…..I think if I put my mind to it, the kit engine could be fairly well detailed to pass decently. We’ll see. I did test myself on some skills which with any luck at all should carry over to future builds. I hope.

nice with a great color combo.

Thanks, Ken . It’s supposed to be ‘blue’ as the name implies … Ice Blue Metallic. Looks green to me but I suppose one could find this color in a glacier.  I like the color too. Something a little different.
