Rattlecan Dan Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 (edited) MPC '36 Wild One build of Len Boehler's iconic #3 "Ole Blue Edited October 6, 2024 by Rattlecan Dan 3
James2 Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 Now that is an early modified asphalt pounder, nicely done.
BK9300 Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 Great job, Donato - really like the hood tin being tied down!
bobss396 Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 Very accurate. Len was not known for his pretty race cars. This was the car that Fred DeSarro was killed in at Thompson.
Rattlecan Dan Posted October 21, 2024 Author Posted October 21, 2024 Thanks all for comments and compliments!
TarheelRick Posted November 12, 2024 Posted November 12, 2024 Excellent build of a modified coupe. Couldn't help but notice the rough body work around the roof line door jamb and the scale thinness of the rear wheel opening. Realism at its best, some mighty fine work.
Chinacar Posted November 13, 2024 Posted November 13, 2024 Great detail, something to look at in every corner!
Pierre Rivard Posted November 13, 2024 Posted November 13, 2024 Wow. Looks like it just came off the track after a hard fought battle. The added detailing, all the paint finishes and weathering are fabulous. Your model oozes realism. Amazing replica!
bobss396 Posted November 15, 2024 Posted November 15, 2024 Doug Heveron drove one of his later creations. That had mis-matched panels on it. Len put his money and efforts into only what won him races. I saw Len at some races over the years, he also was not one to invest in a lot of food, he was on the slim side.
Rattlecan Dan Posted November 16, 2024 Author Posted November 16, 2024 Thanks ALL. Some great comments and compliments.
TooOld Posted November 19, 2024 Posted November 19, 2024 Very cool and a great example of an early modified racer ! Reminds me of the car my brother-in-law raced in these parts back in the 70's . Well done !
