curt raitz Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 This model represents "Lucybelle II" the white Ferrari Ed Hugus entered in the 1958 24 hours of Le Mans. He and Ray Erikson finished in 7th place overall at this race. This is my 2nd go around on building this kit, being familiar with the kit made the assembly much easier. Paint is MM Classic White 2 part lacquer straight from the rattle-can. I found the decals somewhere, but for the life of can't remember who I got them from. thanx for lookin'...
Jon Cole Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Your Testa Rossa came out great! Real sharp! -Jon-
MrObsessive Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Another one of my favorite racers of the '50's! Lookin' mighty sharp Curt! The decals look like VRM? I know they sell plain white meatballs and such.
Zoom Zoom Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Nice! My second TR will also be this car. I have Renaissance decals, they're different from these. For those that don't already have a TR and like this livery, Hasegawa also just issued this version of the kit.
MonoPed Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Beautiful build!! I want to do #0722tr with mine, but can't find decals. Guess I'll have paint it all
FujimiLover Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Reminds me of the Mach 5 for some reason! Nice Ferrari, nice model!
Raul_Perez Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Very nice, my old friend!! I don't remember seeing this one at the NNL West...did you just finish it? Later,
MrObsessive Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Reminds me of the Mach 5 for some reason! Nice Ferrari, nice model! Add pointed front fenders, an "M" on the hood, and then some rear tailfins-------and you've got the Mach 5! Even in the '60's the Japanese were head over heels for Ferraris.........no doubt the original creator of Speed Racer was a Ferrari Testarossa fan.
curt raitz Posted April 20, 2009 Author Posted April 20, 2009 Very nice, my old friend!! I don't remember seeing this one at the NNL West...did you just finish it? Later, It was there...had it displayed with the other Ferrari 250 Testarossa i had built see...
Raul_Perez Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 It was there...had it displayed with the other Ferrari 250 Testarossa i had built see... Like I said...I hate getting old... I suffer from CRS disease. I can't remember "stuff"!! Later,
george 53 Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 I'm with Bill, Curt. Sure does look like the Mach 5. Maybe you could convert it to one! Best lookin Mach 5 around! Don't look to bad for a Ferrari either!
JHDrew Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 Heavy sigh! Some day I will find the time to get back to my Lucy and Phil cars. Thanks for sharing. Very nice work. We both have the same taste in race cars. Always enjoy your work Curt.
Nick F40 Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 (edited) Ohhh yes, another one of my all time favorites. I still have my Hotwheels one. Love the colors, one a white/blue streak? Like Jim said, it is cool that someone else is into the same taste in race cars, I love these. Edited April 22, 2009 by Nick F40
