Old Buckaroo Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 Today for the loss of one of Nascar's legends Bobby Allison 1937 -2024 ? 2
TonyK Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 I was a fan of his and would be happy to tip a Coke (Coke Zero) to him. Not Miller High Life. 1
Old Buckaroo Posted November 11, 2024 Author Posted November 11, 2024 (edited) Nice builds, Dave was that a AMT kit or one you converted? I recently reacquired the AMC Matador kit , built one back when I was about 10 - tube glue and brush painted. I thought it was the coolest car with the Red White and Blue paint. The decals I used on the Matador came from Dave Van. 1

AMT/Model King reissued 74 Chevelle / Laguna kit. Same as the Pond kit but it does not have the Laguna nose clip. Thanks
bobss396 Posted November 11, 2024 Posted November 11, 2024 I did drink a Miller.. or more... yesterday. He was a great driver. I met him at Flemington Speedway, he had a DIRT modified with the Miller Beer sponsorship. I also met his son Davey at Islip Speedway in 1984, we were racing in different divisions. He was in a borrowed street stock, he was doing well in the feature but ended up with a DNF.
That Plasticated Guy Posted November 12, 2024 Posted November 12, 2024 I'll definitely be drinking a Coke Zero or two and watching some races on YouTube that showed not only Bobby when he drove, but his son Davey as well. I have vacation time put in between this month and next and it'll be the perfect time for that. Race in peace Bobby and the rest of the Alabama Gang.
webestang Posted November 12, 2024 Posted November 12, 2024 RIP.....Bobby. I just bought a 12 pack of High Life (in bottles of course) last night so I'll have few with dinner tonight.
TransAmMike Posted November 13, 2024 Posted November 13, 2024 If I had some and drank beer anymore I would for sure lift a few to Bobby. Family and I met him at several collectable and NASCAR affairs and he always took the time to talk to us (as did son Davey). Such a nice and friendly guy. Was so sad to heart of his passing. RIP as you are now up there with Clifford and Davey. losing 1
slusher Posted November 13, 2024 Posted November 13, 2024 (edited) I feel for Bobby lost his boys his wife and he divorced late in life and he moved in with his 91 year old mother. Bobby and his wife remarried in 2000 and was together until her death in 2015.. Edited November 13, 2024 by slusher Add to the post.
