I bought one when the kit first came out. To me, the wheels were the only turnoff. However with the availability of 3D printed wheels and other accessories such as an excellent manual transmission, this fine kit will get a second look. I like the supercharged big block engine.

 

These Schott wheels from ZForce that I detailed are among the wheels I am considering for the build.

Is it the 69 El Camino that came without the window framing like a hard top car? I seem to remember something like that. That kit might be a good source for converting the 68 into a 69.

All of the 1968 through 1972 Chevrolet ElCamino had framed side windows with Vent Windows. The 1968 AMT kit is correct in that aspect.

That's the one I have... First thing I did after opening the box was cut the mags from the chrome tree and threw them in my parts box.... Along with the tires...🤨🤢🤨

Schott wheels would look good on it. They really lend themselves to a good paint and detail.

I like old and modern wheel but I don’t want too be cutting thee car to make them fit…
