Plastheniker Posted January 23 Posted January 23 After one week it is still impossible (see above) to post a longer text, no matter if thread or reply. Any information would be appreciated if this will be a permanent problem.
RSchnell Posted January 26 Posted January 26 I just had the same problem when I went to update my '32 B-400 WIP thread.
Mr. Metallic Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Still seeing the issue today. Frustrating (not frustrated with the mods) to type up a decent sized post for it then not to work.
LennyB Posted February 4 Posted February 4 We have two threads about the same issue. Maybe we can get them merged for clarity.
Plastheniker Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Since January 20 it is still impossible to post more than 2 or 3 sentences. JPGs are no problem. My latest attempt today: Laptop HP Windows 11 Firefox 21:15 CET Under Glass Cars Attempted reply in topic "1963 Alfa Romeo Giulia Tubolare Zagato (“TZ“) Road Car"
Plastheniker Posted February 10 Posted February 10 For almost 4 weeks always the same malfunction. Can we expect any remedy, and if so, when?
stitchdup Posted February 10 Posted February 10 It is being looked at but its not affecting everyone, and some are only affected intermitently. If it was affecting everyone it would be easier to find the cause but as it is now its like trying to find a grain of salt in a bag of sugar. If you could note when it happens in this thread it all helps Dave investigate it. the info that helps is time, time zone, the thread you were posting in, operating system and web browser.
Plastheniker Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Les, I already gave that info in my last but one post. The same info applies also to my most recent post today in the indicated topic. Today I circumvented the malfunction by posting my missing text as a JPG. 😀
Dave Ambrose Posted February 13 Posted February 13 @David G. gets the prize. We have some software rules in place to prevent people from attacking our database, also known as a SQL injection attack. It turns out they're somewhat too promiscuous. The problem words are: insert select alter update I'll get to work solving this problem. In the meantime, if you want to use one of these programmatically naughty words, insert a space in them so they don't trip the errant rule(s).
Plastheniker Posted February 13 Posted February 13 Dave, I'm afraid this can't be the only explanation. I checked my refused text several times but I didn't find any of these four words.

And thanks for all your hard work keeping this circus working. =D-
OldNYJim Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Weirdly, I had a post that wouldn’t, copied the text so it wasn’t lost, made a new post with a single word, edited that post by pasting in the original message…and it worked! None of the ‘naughty’ words in the original copy, just wouldn’t post the first time and did post the second time… Post here: Posted from Firefox for iOS on an iPhone

Looks like variations on those words may cause the issue as well? I typed up my post and got the Oops message. After i read through this thread I saw that I had the word "selected" in my post, put a space in the middle of the word and then it allowed me to post.
