After one week it is still impossible (see above) to post a longer text, no matter if thread or reply. Any information would be appreciated if this will be a permanent problem.

Since January 20 it is still impossible to post more than 2 or 3 sentences. JPGs are no problem.

My latest attempt today:

Attempted reply in topic "1963 Alfa Romeo Giulia Tubolare Zagato (“TZ“) Road Car"

It is being looked at but its not affecting everyone, and some are only affected intermitently. If it was affecting everyone it would be easier to find the cause but as it is now its like trying to find a grain of salt in a bag of sugar. If you could note when it happens in this thread it all helps Dave investigate it. the info that helps is time, time zone, the thread you were posting in, operating system and web browser.

Les, I already gave that info in my last but one post. The same info applies also to my most recent post today in the indicated topic. Today I circumvented the malfunction by posting my missing text as a JPG.

@David G. gets the prize.

We have some software rules in place to prevent people from attacking our database, also known as a SQL injection attack. It turns out they're somewhat too promiscuous.

The problem words are:

  • insert
  • select
  • alter
  • update

I'll get to work solving this problem. In the meantime, if you want to use one of these programmatically naughty words, insert a space in them so they don't trip the errant rule(s).

Good to know, thanks Dave.

And thanks for all your hard work keeping this circus working.

Weirdly, I had a post that wouldn’t, copied the text so it wasn’t lost, made a new post with a single word, edited that post by pasting in the original message…and it worked!

None of the ‘naughty’ words in the original copy, just wouldn’t post the first time and did post the second time…

Looks like variations on those words may cause the issue as well? I typed up my post and got the Oops message. After i read through this thread I saw that I had the word "selected" in my post, put a space in the middle of the word and then it allowed me to post.

Thanks! That confirms my hypothesis.
