I'm no expert on these trucks, but I seem to recall hearing that the 67-68 fenders are contoured slightly differently compared to the 69-72.  Sure isn't obvious to a casual observer.  Even if that is true, I suspect you could cheat it in 1/25 scale and not hear TOO many complaints.

Regarding the '67 small window, seems like it would be more practical to just mold the cabs with the big back windows.  However, Erik Solie has dropped at least one bread crumb that a '67 small window could be in the works:

Maybe they can do it with just a tooling insert, like the 65 Comet body sides without the front fender trim?

Far as I can tell the only difference is no marker light hole for the '67. All the replacement fenders are  listed as '68-'72.

But someone who currently ownes one could verify.

Since this is my '68 Long Bed, and built the previous '69 Green Barge owned before, from the lousy promo chassis AMT kit, I have some opinions too.

The tailgate and taillights are totally wrong on the old AMT kit, if the new kit is not accurate it ought to bomb.  Nothing else matters to me.  If I was to invest in producing 3D printed parts to make that ancient kit look good, THEN Moebius would release it.

Everyone wants this and that option, okay, so they produce another tree of parts, and y'all will whine about the high cost of new models.  Off the top of my head, the options:
Seat: bench or bucket.
Shifter: column or floor.  Pedals must match.
Door card: steel or deluxe.  Better have separate chrome cranks and levers.  Outside door handle separate too!
Tailgate: stamped painted, or aluminum deluxe.  Deluxe has extra trim.
Side trim: body with zero trim, make you add the level you want, more parts.
Grill: Each year has differences.
Back bumper: Many choices, who will make 3D for a ranch truck bumper?
Back window: Only the '67 was small, so have an infill part to putty in.  Mine has the aftermarket slider, there is another 3D part.
1967 had no sidelights at all.  Deluxe trim is different than stock '68-72.
Short Bed vs. Long Bed.  Flamewar material.
A/C or not.
Engine: always the first thing to change.
Big difference in trim details.  Gauge clusters have fake dials.
Mirrors: Sport or RV

Then let's have the GMC versions.

This is a real survivor, bought and basically parked, never needed restoration.  The picture used by Moebious is a real truck, with custom (not factory) details.  Seats are newer.  Not factory wheels.  Has the window thingies.  No letters across the hood, should be photo-etch or go home.  No radio antenna.  My Long Bed is going to be worth a fortune in another decade, because they're getting whacked for fake SB.

Well, no whining from me Kurt. Whatever is released, I can make whatever I want with it.😉

Yes, the '69-72 fenders are slightly different to the '67-68. The hoods much more so. Still hoping that isn't a deterrent to doing the full range of 67-72 Chevys as this has been on my new, modern tooling wishlist for decades.

Well, other than the marker lights & trim, could you show me the fender difference with a picture?  No words, just a picture.

And yes, there will be both a small window and a big window.

Hi Erik,

I have a few pictures.... this is not my '69 Blazer (don't get you going about adding those), also to '72, the leading edge of the hood is more vertical, and this still has the Bowtie (which IMO should be a separate chrome part).  So the fenders are the same.  His bumper splash pan appears to be bare aluminum.

My '68 ('67 too) have the codeword "Sloped Hood".  Separate letters, photo-etch opportunity, no Bowtie.  Mine still has the factory "White Face" in the grill, painted bumper splash pan.  Side trim changed too, mine goes over the wheel.  Just doing all the badges will delay it another year. 😉

The text from the site that I got the picture from since Erik doesn't want it 😅. Don't tell him 🤫

"Ignoring that 67's don't have side markers...

1967-68 Chevy AND 1967 to 1972 GMC fenders on left. These fenders look smooth and clean at the front and come to a point.

1969-1972 Chevrolet ONLY fenders (the grill mounts over top of the "notch") on the right. These are easy to tell as they have an "ugly notch" on the front that the grille mounts over"

Posted (edited)

So what it realistically comes down to is to be 100% correct and cover all the bases there need to be 4 different cabs?

One without the notched fenders and no markers and a small back window for the '67 standard cab,

One without notched fenders and marker lights and big back window for for '67 upmarket cab,

One without notched fenders, with marker lights and big back window for '68,

one with notched fenders, with marker lights and big back window for '69 - '72

Does this look right?

This alone, given long box, short box, step side, fleetside, 2wd and 4X4 alone would yield,, what? 32 different individual kits, before any engine and transmission variations are factored in?

That's pretty wild. 😉

Ok, so let me see if I've got this right.

Tips of the fenders are re-profiled a bit to accommodate "ugly notch" and Hood edge change?  All other shapes the same?

Don't worry about the markers, as they will most likely be blind holes to mount a separate chrome part (if needed)

Eh, not quite like that, but we're already up to 4 cabs alone on our work list, so yea, a lot of kits hopefully to come.

Great googlie wooglie, that sounds great!

So, can we expect to start seeing them before the end of the year, if I may ask?

, ,and if I may be so bold, PLEASE, one with a "pro touring" setup similar to the '64 Comet you have coming out. Saves us hotrodders a lot of work. 😉

Yes, the leading edge of the '67-68 needs to be made more vertical overall and the notch added to account for the grille mounting on the '69-72

End of year?  Ah,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, to quote Marcel Marceau in "Silent Movie" ......................."No!"  They'll be done when they are finished.  It will be on Tuesday, just don't ask which Tuesday.

Pro-Touring?  Man, we gots a long way to go to get there.  Lets get the basics covered first.  We've got other projects in the works you know.

Great news, Eric!

I'd rather have the kit 'Right' than 'Right now'.

Keep to your plans.
