Rescued customs Posted February 7 Posted February 7 Started this yesterday but today was a rain day so spent some time on her today. Opened the driver door and trunk swapped a 426 hemi/4speed combo. Smoothed firewall swap 9 inch swap type 2 nascar brakes and built a extended fuel tank setup so think got a good bit done hope y’all like her color combo TBD ( goin between black red interior or the normal red/white combo that’s popular with these cars but teal/white has been a thought ) opinions ? 11
Sledsel Posted February 7 Posted February 7 I like this, but I have soft spot for late '50's Mopars.I have a few of these but have not started one yet. 1
Rescued customs Posted February 7 Author Posted February 7 Thanks …. I just like to build stuff in a different way than other people. The hood is only thing not happy with I wanted stock hood but oh well I guess
Zippi Posted February 7 Posted February 7 The ole 58 Belvedere with that 426 Hemi setting in the business end sure looks good. Lot of nice mods going on. I'll keep tabs on this build. 1

Ima add some traction bars prop a fuel tank/cell sump and lines and such . Headers will be soon also but look like they will be a pain due to lack of room lol . But should turn out well and do well in the cannonball build off I hope . There is a show in Atlanta mid march ide love to attend with it so we will see how progress goes
Bainford Posted February 7 Posted February 7 The Hemi looks right at home there. What are the rear tires you are using? What kit are they from? 1

They are micky Indy profilers …. If I remember correct I got them from the Baldwin motion 2gen Camaro I have had them a while (16-17 yrs) for a pure 70s build like this 1

I have a set fitted to a Revell '70 Torino. Nice tires, I wish Round2 would put these in more kits. 1

espo Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Like how you opened the doors and trunk. The engine and chassis look great. You mentioned the hood and that you were not completely satisfied with how it looked, I noticed the same thing as well. Maybe one of the mid '60's MoPar S/S drag hood scoops would be a consideration. 1

That’s exactly what I did well not a s/s one but I chose a mid 60s gtx style I’ll post pics this evening when at the table
Rescued customs Posted February 9 Author Posted February 9 Hated the cowl style hood went with a 60e Mopar stocker style hood … way happier …. Didn’t work a lot on her this evening have a few others on the table need to get worked on too 1
Geno Posted February 9 Posted February 9 (edited) Man, that is gonna be killer. I'd go with the teal/white color combo. That'll make it really pop. JMHO though.💯👍😎 Edited February 9 by Geno 1
oldcarfan Posted February 9 Posted February 9 I'd go with the teal/white or the black if it were mine. The black would be cool in a moonshine runner kind of way.
Rescued customs Posted February 10 Author Posted February 10 Officially changed hoods feel better about this one 1
