89AKurt Posted February 20 Posted February 20 Not a fan of the grey font on dark blue background. My screenshot is about twice the size. 1
BigAl1 Posted February 20 Posted February 20 I am 66 years old! I agree, less than ideal. I use readers to see small or dark print, and to build models. Old age sucks!
peteski Posted February 20 Posted February 20 I suspect that this type of thing is easily customizable by the admins, but still not sure why the designers thought this would be good idea in the first place. Probably another example of someone not thinking things things through.

Rodent Posted February 21 Posted February 21 47 minutes ago, peteski said: Are you using any type of Adblock? Yeah, I didn't think about that. An incognito window looks like Kurt's, but with a little better contrast and a giant banner ad.. I will check on my work PC tomorrow and report back. I don't feel like remoting in right now.
LennyB Posted February 21 Posted February 21 It's funny, mine changes look depending upon whether I'm in a category or inside a thread. When in a thread it looks like Kurt's, in a category it looks like Steve's
peteski Posted February 21 Posted February 21 I also noticed that the background color does change spending on which part of the forum I'm viewing. It might be tied to the ads being displayed at the top.
DJMar Posted February 21 Posted February 21 Unfortunately, there are a number of accessibility guidelines that are not met on this site. Kurt's posted example is a good one, where the text is not in sufficient contrast to be read clearly by folks with vision issues. Not sure if that was a design error, or just lack of information.
Xingu Posted February 21 Posted February 21 I flagged this so Dave can look into it. Maybe it is an ad that is overlaying on it. The ad companies are ruthless when it comes to getting clicks. i have been pushing for theme options for a while. I personally want a dark option, that is easier for me to view. Most of the reliable, well integrated, themes cost money. 1 1
Dave Ambrose Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Colors, fonts, and sizes are determined by the forum's theme. Right now, we're using the default theme that comes with the forum software. It's not ideal, but it's what we had to do at the time. We're getting a new and major upgrade some time this year. I'll take a look at what's available, and make some decisions about themes then. Thanks for bringing this up. I know what to look for, and maybe we can figure out some solutions before the new software goes live.
