Hi guys,
I'm going to build an AMT Fairlane GT/GTA. This is my entry for this year's Cannonball Run.

The plan is to make it like the one in Fast X.

For the engine, I'm thinking of adding a Weiand blower.

Some time ago, I painted the body, but then I  left the hobby for a few years.
Now with this build, I am going back to the amazing world of modeling.

Well, first, I'm focusing on the hood and doing some scrap work while I gather all the stuff I need, like putty, paint, and everything else to build this kit.

Removed the FORD letters y the inner line

I made the hood scoop with styrene

At that point, I was unhappy with the height, so I lowered it a little and did some more sanding. It is not ready yet, but I like how it's going.

I removed the side badges from the Fairlane. And made the rear wing

Next, I am going to build the engine, add a supercharger, and test how everything fits under the hood.

I love it, but the rear wing looks a bit more modern that what was out in 1975 to me.

You're right! I didn't even think about that I'll do some research to find a more period-correct wing for the 1975 vibe. Thanks for pointing that out

Imo I dislike the surfboard wing but a nascar inspired duck bill might fit the bill im currently doin a mild pro touring fairlane and also thinking of a wing of some sort … can’t wait to see more

A duck bill sounds like a great idea, I’ll give it a try and see how it looks.
Can’t wait to see what you come up with for your Fairlane too!

Here's a little update on the engine.
It is already painted and assembled, but I have a few things left to finish. I need to make the pulleys for the blower and the engine, the belt, and the tensioner.engine-1.jpg.ec5ea518a17fc2ee6d0ee3b605abcbf5.jpgengine.jpg.f41dbce8f276c5ae62b136177e0d4106.jpg

The blower and the engine are finished. I just need to add the fan and check how everything fits in the engine bay, but so far, everything looks good.

I wasn't sure if this was a good idea, but I wanted to open the trunk, so I did it. I hope I don't regret this, haha.

I also did a paint test. This will be the body color.

The interior is now complete! I initially considered flat black but decided to experiment with red tones first. While I'm not completely certain about keeping the red, I'm kinda liking how it turned out. Do you think it's too much red?

In other progress, I de-chrome the bumpers and painted them in flat black
