Just saw this “coming soon” notice on my local hobby shop website (Burbank House of Hobbies):

What surprised me when I saw this notice is that it describes the kit as “including authentic A/FX 427 SOHC  engine”. I thought all the Bill Stroppe B/FX Comets utilized 289 small block engines with  a single Holly four barrel or the Webber four carb set-up (as used on Cobras). I believe these B/FX’s also retained the stock Comet front shock towers (vs. modified widened engine bay on the A/FX’s). Unless I’m missing something, this new kit look’s like this is just the existing Moebius Comet A/FX kit with B/FX decals??? Hoping that this description is incorrect or also includes the 289 engine and stock engine bay shock towers, otherwise an accurate B/FX build will likely require kit-bashing with a stock Moebius Comet kit for these corrects. Anyone else here have any insight as to what’s actually included in this kit???

Despite these questions, thank you Moebius for continuing to pump out great auto kits!

I think the B/FX cars were all small blocks with the four-Weber setup. Ford was claiming 341 hp from the "Cobra" engine.

Seems like a no-brainer to use the 289 from the 'street' Cyclone with the drag parts from the 427, all they would need to come up with are the carbs, intake and headers, modify the instructions slightly and print the box.

Sounds easy from here, probably less so in the real world with Moby's checkbook (and MKs) . Would make a lot of sense to me to price this version into the tool when everything else was cut, this would allow a "Street Machine" version to spread out the costs.

The B/FX prototype kit parts Moebius sent me way back when I was providing some advice to them, at their request, on fine tuning the original '65 Cyclone A/FX, included the 289 and Webers along with other associated engine compartment parts.  That was a long time ago and lots has happened in the interim, but my best guess is that those parts will be in the new kit too.  Guess we will find out for sure sooner than later...TB

Thanks Tim, hope that’s still the case. I would love to make Doug Nash’s B/FX with this kit and some aftermarket or home-printed decals.

I also like the Doug Nash version, the lettering & graphics on it are outstanding.

It is nice to see new kits coming out. I'll  cite their Nova gasser as a good example.

The AMT kits were quite rudimentary and the molds are pretty much clapped out.
