LennyB Posted May 9 Posted May 9 Rain, rain, rain, we had .88” on the overnight and we can expect another 1-2” today. Noah says it’s time to get the arc out of cold storage.
espo Posted May 9 Posted May 9 Sunny and upper 70's. Patio time with some adult beverages and steaks on the grill.
John M. Posted May 9 Posted May 9 It'll be rainy and chilly right through tomorrow. The heat for the building was shut off on the first but thankfully, I have my trusty space heater.
bobss396 Posted May 10 Posted May 10 48 F at 5:30 am. Looks clear so far. Friday was a total washout. Torrential rain all day into the late evening. I was supposed to do some bicycle work and start planting vegetables.
Ace-Garageguy Posted May 10 Posted May 10 (edited) Today's weather here is much as I remember England. Cool, overcast, rain showers off and on. Good day to sit in front of the electric fire watching old British mysteries. EDIT: And we had an earthquake about 09:00. It rattled the house about the same as a tree or large limb falling, but went on for several seconds. Edited May 10 by Ace-Garageguy
1972coronet Posted May 10 Posted May 10 Typical transitional season stuff here - Sunday 4th May - Wednesday 7th May , overcast and cool ; temps barely reached 60 degrees. Thursday 8th May, 90 degrees ; Friday 9th May, 101 degrees, and ; today, Saturday 10th May , projected to reach 103 degrees. A radical difference of 40+ degrees . Tomorrow, Sunday 11th May, supposed to drop back down to around 70 degrees - rain expected by Tuesday... and maybe 60 degrees again. These radical changes feel soooo goood on the ol' arthritis !

I was at my friend's condo (2nd floor) on the 13th of April when that 6-something earthquake hit around the San Diego area (100+ miles away). That sum-uh-nuh made my fanny pucker-up, 'cause it kept rolling. "This old earthquake's gonna leave me in the poorhouse / it seems like the whole town's insane... "
Cool Hand Posted May 18 Posted May 18 Couple weeks Autumn ends, so the cold winter weather is starting to set in. Time to switch hobbies and get back to painting miniatures.
bobss396 Posted May 18 Posted May 18 60 F early thus morning. Looks like a nice day so far. I got the pool open and about half the garden planted.
espo Posted May 18 Posted May 18 Been great weather for the last three or four days with temps in the upper 70's and even getting to 80 one day and the winds have died down to single digit velocity from the near gale force winds we were having. But this is about to change tonight with heavy rain and winds returning. It is spring after all.
Rob Hall Posted May 18 Posted May 18 Its been a very wet and cool spring so far here in NE Ohio. Lots of rain and wind lately.
John M. Posted May 22 Posted May 22 (edited) It was raining cats and dogs all day and I wished that I had a submarine instead of a school bus. When I approach a stop by looking through the periscope, I would say "Surface" "Surface" with the alarm going. When I leave for the next stop, I'd say "Dive" "Dive" with the alarm going. johnyrotten Posted May 22 Posted May 22 (edited) More rain and cold, might as well put tracks and ski's on the bike this season. Or pontoons. Edited May 22 by johnyrotten Spelling
Ace-Garageguy Posted May 22 Posted May 22 Beautiful sunny and low humidity here today and tomorrow, but rain forecast all weekend...so I need to get the lawn mowed tomorrow. Washed one of the trucks today and it wasn't too bad on the ribs, so I'm pretty sure pushing the mower otter be OK. 3
bobss396 Posted Friday at 11:24 AM Posted Friday at 11:24 AM Yesterday was 45 F and rainy, never got past 50. The past 2 days have been washouts. Today is cool, with the yellow thing in the sky making an appearance. When I opened the pool a week ago, the water was 67, now it is 62... I did get all my vegetables planted a couple of days ago. 1
Falcon Ranchero Posted Friday at 06:03 PM Posted Friday at 06:03 PM Nice sun-shower this morning. Not too many every now and then, but they are nice.
Rob Hall Posted Friday at 06:15 PM Posted Friday at 06:15 PM WIndy, overcast and 50 today. No rain since last night, but there is standing water in parts of my backyard.. such a wet Spring, like 2022 and 2023 were. 1
Ace-Garageguy Posted Saturday at 12:06 AM Posted Saturday at 12:06 AM (edited) Flaming frogs and exploding bluebirds falling from the sky, with a rain of smoking-hot oil. Otherwise quite a nice day. Edited Saturday at 12:07 AM by Ace-Garageguy 1

It looks like we're having a repeat of spring of 2003 and 2013. 2003 was the 1st year of our pool. It rained so much I got it open in almost July. We had a few days where it broke 80. 2013 started out as wet but we had some hot days. I had the pool water checked, only need alkalinity-up. The water temp dropped to 58...
John M. Posted Saturday at 11:37 AM Posted Saturday at 11:37 AM The rain that's been hammering the Boston area for the last few days has finally stopped. Thursday's rain alone dump almost 3 inches. We'll be getting a decent amount of sunshine and low 70s starting on Monday.
bobss396 Posted Sunday at 11:45 AM Posted Sunday at 11:45 AM Still quite cool for late May. It still managed to rain a bit. It did break 65 F. The pool is still somehow below 58 F.
