How's your weather?

70 this morning and a little sticky. I have to keep up with my plant watering. We could use a good rain for sure.

The humidity is the killer for me. With the coronary bypass, I'm told to avoid temperature extremes. I tend to wilt if I get too hot.

The Blazer's ambient temp readout said 98 as I drove home happily with all my windows down.

Only real downside of working in heat once you're acclimated to it is electrolyte depletion from drinking so much water.

Probably one of the reasons I tend to have leg cramps at night in the summer.

I'm working on a non-"sports drink" solution.

Ask your pharmacist about magnesium citrate. It was recommended to me after my doctor increased the dosage of my water pill and led to night time cramping.

For me the 150mg was bang on. Enough to reap the benefit, not enough to bring out any side effects.

Radar looks like rain headed our way. None forecast. Yesterday it was forecast and we didn't get any. But it is 82F and 58% humidity.

Several years ago I was lucky to attend a Hopi rain dance.  But I didn't learn the chant and gift thing, so I've been trying my own version.  Windows open, Honda washed, doing something outside, iPhone weather app showed nothing for rain.  Then after lunch I heard thunder, looked north, rushed to Home Deephole for a tarp.  Had the plywood done, so this worked as planned.  Then about two minutes later the rain stopped.  Dumped a few miles away, so that is what "10% chance" the radio weather guy said looks like.

Still hot on the Island. 76 F at 6 am and humid. The pool is up to 85 and really not cooling me off.

Same old same old.

Forecast high 94F, which means it'll be well over 100 in the shop this PM.

Popup t-storms also forecast, probably just enough to drive the humidity way up with little to no cooling.

This is standard summer here...no better, no worse.

I need to go back to getting to work by 06:30, but it's not as easy to do as it was back in 2011.

Been hotter than hades for far too long and in dire need of some rain. Last night we had rain and thunder and lightning along with at least 2 to 3 inches of rain. The talking heads on TV think we'll be in the mid - 70s tonight and I have already wiped off the patio furniture for these evening's festivities.

Yesterday the high was 94, also still 85 at 11 pm.

74 at 5:30 am, I need to water and pick cucumbers and tomatoes, dig up a shallot to see if they are done.

Quite pleasant here in the Metro Boston area. Partly sunny, dry and 81 degrees is on tap for today. The weekend looks to be the same.

Still the pretty standard summer weather pattern here, and forecast over the next 7 days: daytime sunny, hot (mid to high 90s) and humid (70%+), afternoon popup T-storms. 

For all the doom and gloom and "existential threat" and "OMG heat!!!" whining going on, this is exactly the typical summer weather pattern I've experienced here since 1969.

As I sit down for lunch outside, it's 87F with 59% humidity and a light breeze.

Beautiful blue sky, lotsa puffy white cumulous clouds...reminds me of full-on summers when I was a kid in the Midwest, on the East Coast, and down South, in a world where most people could survive just fine in temperate climates with no AC.

For all my involvement with "grossly-polluting, planet-destroying" old cars, I'll wager MY "carbon footprint" is MUCH less than the vast majority of the self-righteous climate-crisis crowd.

The fact that my home is tree-shaded and I force-ventilate it at night when temps are in the 70s, then close it up during the daytime, means it's usually still at least 10-15 degrees cooler inside than outside when I get home from work, and I pay HUNDREDS of dollars LESS a month for electricity than the average US house this size consumes.

So who's REALLY "saving the planet"?

Yesterday 80 and .5" rain. tomorrow and for the foreseeable future around 100, with heat indices of around 105 or higher. I guess it will be perfect weather for foiling and assembly of all the kits I sprayed last fall.
