How much difference is there between a 69 Torino and a 69 Torino Talladega I know the grill is different?

the nose is longer and has a slight downward angled slope to the grille and that means the hood does not go to the edge but there is a body panel in front of it  and the frond sidelamp markers are both different sizes and in different places and they have different front bumpers
the black 69 torino cobra fastback  and cream 69 torino talladega and then there is a pic of a youtube video that shows the difference between the the amt 69 talladega and amt 69 cobra kits

I believe the hoods would also be different.

I don't think they are. I think both cars use the same hood stamping.

On the real cars, the Talladaga hood is the same piece as the standard Torino with the hood leading edge chrome removed.

And the rocker panels are different. They were -re-rolled so that the actual race cars could sit lower (has to do with how NASCAR rules measured the ride height).

If I recall correctly, both of those kits had the Talladega parts. In typical fashion, both kits used the same body shell. If you want to build an exact replica you will need to re-do the rocker panels.

The Torino Cobra kit may have the piece to extend the front end, but won't have the Talladega grille/bumper unit.  If you had both kits to compare, you'd see that the bumper for each kit occupies the same space on the plated tree.

The Talladega had a different engine from the Cobra, as well as a bench front seat and no console.

They were not re-rolled but a "drop snoot" was created. The flange where the spot welds were was lowered to help direct air. Clearly seen on this photo.

Perhaps, but there is definitely something different about the profile of the rocker panels on the Talladega. There seems to be an additional 'fold' in line with the lower door line on the Talladega that can't be seen on the standard Torino.

Talladaga rocker panels are factory modified. In 1969 NASCAR measured the ride height (ground clearance) at the rocker panel, in order to lower the car one inch Ford "re-rolled" the rocker panels to achieve this.

The evidence of this is apparent in the picture as the "pinch weld" is quite prominent,  the excess material remaining after "re-rolling" the rocker panel was not removed just welded in place.

However, the pictured Talladaga is incorrect. As Ford, because of the now very prominent pinch weld as seen in the picture, painted this excess material black in an effort to make the modification less apparent.

A good friend of mine owns a Presidential Blue Talladaga and is an expert in many things Ford. I built a "box stock" replica of his car using the Monogram kit when is wuz first issued.
