Had this sitting in my stash for years. It was the only kit my mom ever bought me. I was honored and told her I would make it into something special. When I opened the box later I was dismayed. The Monogram kit was and to this day THE worst kit I had ever seen. The flashing was completely out of control and pieces such as the windshield didn't fit. So it sat and sat. My mom passed before I touched it. Guilt was my motivation to build it. It is a true Frankenstein with bits and pieces from so many kits I lost track. Started out with a yellow paint job. I was thinking of the Popular Hot Roding magazine project car "project X" if I remember correctly but the yellow has too much green in it so I started over. Needless to say this one is special to me.

Very nice looking gasser. All the Tri-Fives make mean gassers. Really like that color, looks almost like a nail polish shade. What is it?

It was an old can of Testors candy apple red. A really thin coat over metallic silver.

Cool gasser. You did a great job on this one. Despite the shortcomings of this kit, I have seen some wicked gassers built from it, and this one surely qualifies. All of these Revell Chevys were a chore, I built a few as a kid, and a '57 hardtop is still unbuilt in my stash.

Thanks!!! As a kid nothing excited me more than seeing a hopped up tri 5 with a straight front axle.

You sure it is not the old Revell kit? Sure looks it to me with opening doors and trunk. If it is, I double the fact you made it look great.
