Mattilacken Posted March 25 Posted March 25 (edited) I got this kit in a trade with s fellow member here on the board, it was built and some parts missing i took it mostly apart and repainted some parts as well as the body. Interior was painted in a flat gray so I only shot semi gloss clear and detailed it. The seats was replaced with a set of buckets that got a Prodrive decal and belts from “Kits world” and since I only had one set I improvised and extended the optional shoulder belts with Tamiya 3mm tape that I painted with Ohuhu acrylic markers of a similar color. And I made the passenger lap belts in the same way with some PE buckels. I did also make my own seat brackets out of some old floppy discs. And I might have put the seats a bit high. Steering wheel is replaced with a spare o deep wheel. Most decals was shot or missing so I coppied my new set with the printer(bad resolution I believe) and aded some others and printed new ones. Chrome emblems on the engine are from a Mercedes metal transfer I bought. wheels and tires are my own creation that I made to have a ofsett so they would lick the wheel well edge. otherwise quite out of the box. took two more in the afternoon sun. happy grumpy Posted March 25 Posted March 25 Beautiful Aston Martin. Great color. The background and photography only enhance the beautiful lines of this car. Great work. 1
ea0863 Posted March 25 Posted March 25 Great resurrection of a beautiful car. The colors do it justice. 1
espo Posted March 26 Posted March 26 Great looking paint color and finish. Like the wheel and tire combination and the stance. 1
bbowser Posted March 27 Posted March 27 Beautiful! I wish Tamiya would reissue this one so I could afford to build it. 1
beeRS Posted March 27 Posted March 27 Very nice indeed. Great to see one of these done. This kit is rare now. I wish Tamiya would re-release it. I like the way you did the harness belts - very clever, and I could never imagine a floppy disk being put to such good use. 1
Mattilacken Posted March 27 Author Posted March 27 Thanks allot everyone for your kind words! And I also hope the reissue this one. I do have a new kit as well that will be built some time that I got for original retail price since my lhs had missed to list it on their websites and was forgotten I their shelf’s. here is a photo of the car in its dedicated Aston Martin display with memorabilia from my practical training there in 2006. 4

Mattilacken Posted April 21 Author Posted April 21 17 hours ago, Valvefloat said: this kit is $$$ Can’t speak for Moebius but Tamiya are nice kits but some are a bit simplistic compared to say Fujimi Entusiast series or even amt but Tamiya fit is great! and yes these are pricey, have one still unbuilt in the stash with sealed bags inside, will keep that one for an other build further down the road.
