afxawb2 Posted April 9 Posted April 9 I normally use Future for most of my clearing. What do you guys recommend? I do not have an airbrush. Any help would be appreciated-if it has previously been on Forum I apologize.
vincen47 Posted April 9 Posted April 9 (edited) The best clear for Revell Chrome I’ve used is Spaz Stix 10909 Ultimate Clear Coat. Minimal reduction in shine compared to other clear coats, but it does tone down the brightness a little bit. All of the brightwork above, with the exception of the photo etched catwalk, exhaust mesh, and the engine parts, was done with Revell Chrome and Spaz Stix Clear. Edited April 10 by vincen47 1
NOBLNG Posted April 10 Posted April 10 (edited) This blower has one coat of Revell Chrom straight from the can. Not sure how long I let it dry…but then it was dipped in pledge twice. The wheel has the kit chrome for comparison. BMF on the left and Chrom with a pledge dip on the right. TheBEAUMONTGURU Posted April 13 Posted April 13 Interesting about the Pledge. I had not thought of that. I gotta try it. I have used the Alclad Aqua Gloss over the revell chrome, but it will dull it slightly. Not bad tho. But Gregs Pledge treatment sure looks better to me.
rattle can man Posted April 13 Posted April 13 But what does one use now that Pledge with Future is no longer available? I would think products from other MFG might have different formulas, different levels of gloss, etc.

Bugatti Fan Posted April 14 Posted April 14 There is a floor finishing product by a US company named Holloway House in a green container. Works similarly to Johnson's Kleer / Future / Pledge. There is a YouTube video of it being used on a model. Don't know how it would work on Revell Chrome, but maybe worth a try ?
