plumnuts Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 well this build started off cause as I looked through this site and noticed alot of veriaty in some peoples collections, I realized I do the same build over and over again... so as I was looking at one of evil ones builds and decided to try a lowrider. the goal was a very clean and detailed build. I am happy with the results and learned some things on the way. for the most part revell did a good job with the kit. had to do some fitting on the hood so it would close all the way. sand and putty some molding lines in the trunk and fenders, and some light mods on inner fender well to get the back to go a little lower. but detail and overall fit was nice. would recommend the kit. thanks for looking and I'm headed to the bench to start another one.
evilone Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 DANG BRO.that is clean, simple, and to the point.Very good job bro. That kit is awsome im currently looking for the amt kit so i can have everthing open. Can't wait to see the next one.But herse a kit suggestion get the 70 monte carlo and some 1109's.You will have a detailed kit as well as a detailed traditional low low .As i said very nice.

gseeds Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 wow sweett!! looks great ,and all the chrome work must have been a pain !! looks cool !!!
Foxer Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 That paint defiantly has the requisite loudness .. but very good looking! The BMF side of my brain aches but I see yours is functioning well! Very nice build.
RodneyBad Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 Great looking Impala, I think everything came out Just right.. Great Work.
plumnuts Posted May 5, 2009 Author Posted May 5, 2009 thanks alot guys. this build definatly got me pumped up when it was done. I'm new to the BMF thing so I actually enjoyed doing it, the kit does come with alot of chrome, the things I used BMF on are as fallows. front and rear windows - rain rails over doors - hash marks on front fenders - the V emblem on the hood and trunk - the molding on the fender skirts - the moldings and cranks on the interior. It's almost like disarming a bomb when you do BMF cause you know if your not careful it will blow up. thanks again guys, its always nice to get alot of feedback on a build, makes you feel like you are not waisting your time.
DR Dubois Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Lots of bling and a great colour choice. That's a fine looking low rider!
plumnuts Posted May 8, 2009 Author Posted May 8, 2009 Beautiful.......................what did you use? use on what?
moonlite5hadow Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 (edited) Beautiful.......................what did you use? im gonna say he used a pre-asssorted and packeged mix of plastic pieces, modeling cement, putty, sandpaper, paint, possibly primer, and a fair bit of patience. ha, im just kidding! good clean build. the '58 is next on my list of low-lows. im still working on my 'vert '80 monte carlo. Edited May 10, 2009 by moonlite5hadow
TomA Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Nice build! Like the '58, the colour and just the right amount of chrome (plenty!!).
gilsdropshop1 Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 thats one clean 58 well done, wheels look great on it.
cruz Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 I personally would have used old style wheels like the ones regularly chosen for these type of lead sleds but great job otherwise, very clean with a very cool paint job!!
