Can-Con Posted May 9 Posted May 9 I'm with Muncie, save it as is and just get a new one. " I was a young child when I built this so it isn't the best. I am attached to this model as it was one of my first. " If you redo it, it'll not be the same. Keep it as you remember it. You may regret not keeping it. 2

johnyrotten Posted May 10 Posted May 10 (edited) Here's an idea that won't take away from this being a sentimental part of your childhood. Put a bare chassis underneath and build a rotisserie frame for it. Display it next to another charger. Before and after is the idea. It'll be a bit of a "forever work in progress". The amt prostreet nova has an engine stand. Two of those and some evergreen square and it's a done deal. Edited May 10 by johnyrotten 3

Why do we have to over-analyze things like this to death? Trash it - burn it - rebuild it. Whatever. Just do whatever you feel like doing. Edited May 12 by peteski 2
iamsuperdan Posted May 12 Posted May 12 Personally, I'd strip it and save it. I have a few of the models I built in the late 80s, and turning them into something nice while retaining the original parts has been a good feeling. And who cares if it's easier and faster to just buy a new one? Same could be said for all the guys who restore real cars. Why bother fixing that rusty thing? Just buy a new one! It's easier! 2
Beans Posted May 13 Posted May 13 I'm emotionally invested in this process now and honestly can't wait to see what happens!! 1 2
