Sledsel Posted April 27 Posted April 27 (edited) I thought a post telling which Walmarts carry kits maybe helpful. This is Wooster Ohio Edited April 27 by Sledsel 3
Shark Posted April 27 Posted April 27 I wish I could add to your list, but the 4 closest to me don't carry them. I see 3 or 4 in your picture I would get.
PappyD340 Posted April 27 Posted April 27 I'm in central NC and none of them close to me have them either, I was told that it's an individual Walmart decision to carry the models or not.
slusher Posted April 27 Posted April 27 I have to go to Jackson to a Walmart that carries models about 50 miles. I like that Boss Nova..
rattle can man Posted April 27 Posted April 27 my local recently started carrying them again. But like the picture shows, nothing of interest.
deuces wild Posted April 28 Posted April 28 The '67 SS-396, 340 Duster and maybe the '53 Ferd pick'em up truck look interesting....🤔😁😎👍
johnyrotten Posted April 28 Posted April 28 My local store doesn't carry any but the store in Gloversville does. Store number 1806. Albany new york area.
stavanzer Posted April 28 Posted April 28 I'll have to check here in Bakersfield. I would like The Cat & Boss Nova.
stavanzer Posted April 28 Posted April 28 And, the '53 Ford is always at Hobby Lobby, in two or three versions.
1930fordpickup Posted April 29 Posted April 29 The wallmart in Holland ( Toledo Suburb) Ohio has them but the 2 in Toledo do not. None in Monroe MI or Adrain.
Ace-Garageguy Posted April 29 Posted April 29 Much as I hate to admit it, I've started going to Wallyworld when I'm on that side of town to save a few bucks on some groceries, so next time I'm there, I'll have a look.
Shark Posted April 29 Posted April 29 I'm not much of a Walmart person either, but the hobby shops around me are all gone for some years now. I would buy some kits at WM though. So it's mail order or Hobby Lobby.
BKF Posted April 29 Posted April 29 It would be nice if there was a way of knowing which stores has kits. I've only seen them at one store long ago but don't remember where. I usually look when i go into a Walmart. 2

The parking lots and the pathway to the toy section takes more time than I want to spend checking the half dozen stores in the area.
johnyrotten Posted April 30 Posted April 30 It's fairly simple to find what stores in your area stock them. Search model kits nearby or walmart model kits nearby. The results should show up, and the store number/location where they are. My local does not stock any, but two stores fairly close by do. Their app does the same, I don't use it, but my wife does. It's not the best app according to her. Hopefully this helps. 2
oldcarfan Posted April 30 Posted April 30 No Walmart in our area carries kits, and from the posted pictures I see, everything that they do put out is something I already have. It sucks too, because the closest hobby shops are either Austin, Tx an hour and a half away, or Dallas, 3 hours away. I did catch up to the Walmart local Dept. Manager again a few weeks ago and she still says she won't allow model kits on her floor. Not sure what that's about.

But yesterday I did a search for the AMT 53 Ford in the pic and it showed one available for pickup today at a Walmart an hour away. Then I checked availability at nearby stores but none showed available.

Still gotta do some leg work. At least you found the kit you're looking for. Edited Wednesday at 03:17 PM by johnyrotten
1930fordpickup Posted Wednesday at 05:06 PM Posted Wednesday at 05:06 PM I do not use this but wallmart does offer an In Store pick up. Not sure how it works. You have to watch who is selling the kit but you can pick you local store as pick up with free shipping. Again I have not used it.

The $400 KitchenAid stand mixers that didn't sell at Christmas hit the clearance cabinet for $200 in early January. Glad I check that part of the store when I am there. 1
