Hemifever Posted May 1 Posted May 1 Finished this build a few weeks ago of a friend's 1:1 Corvette. It's built box stock with some detail painting, gauges and a few photo etched items added. Paint is MCW Corvette bronze and the interior is decanted CA dark orange interior dye, shot from my air brush. I remember this kit as a kid, with that scary working front suspension, but 57 years later it went together with no problems. Comments welcomed. 19
Monty Posted May 1 Posted May 1 I've been a fan of MPC C3 kits since I first built one as a young teen, and I'd say yours turned out nicely, especially that MCW paint. If you get a chance, I'd love to see engine and chassis pics too.
happy grumpy Posted May 1 Posted May 1 My favorite Corvette and you did an awesome job on it. Beautiful paint job and photos.
Pierre Rivard Posted May 2 Posted May 2 Beautiful build. Impressive how this old tooled body has retained crisp lines and details.
Ragtop Man Posted May 2 Posted May 2 Damn does that look good! Those old tools have been flogged so hard for so long, we forget how great they looked new.
Hemifever Posted May 3 Author Posted May 3 Thanks all for your kind comments. On my bucket list was to build a old kit from my younger building days, a Mopar maybe, but it turned out to be a Corvette. Very impressed with the tooling of this kit, especially being mid-century. Great suspension detail and everything fit together very well. Maybe I'll get around to building that MPC 66 Charger.
