Chuck Most Posted June 5 Posted June 5 (edited) The Stranger Things Blazer built out of the box other than the Spotlight Hobbies sasquatch silhouette decal, finished in Tamiya Olive Drab and lightly weathered. Edited June 5 by Chuck Most 14
stavanzer Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Great Looking M1009 Clone. It looks very Sturdy and Purposeful. Good Show.
espo Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Great looking body panel fit and finish along with the OD paint finish. Some equipment numbers and would fit in with the Motor Pool.
meechum68 Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Great job! Are you going to do Army or Air Force badging? To me personally I am a sucker for the Air Force badging. 1

Chuck Most Posted June 15 Author Posted June 15 I don't know why everyone thinks this is an M1009. It's a flat green Blazer. 🤣 Wrong engine, wrong axles, wrong wheels and tires, and no military spec equipment on it. 1

Wrong engine for sure but same axles, 3:08 final drive on the blazer, and 4.11 on the 1 1/4 M1008 truck. Both with gov-loc rear. Correct wheels too, 15X8. It would need a few things for military spec, but not far off. 1

They did have a 1/2 ton 10 bolt differential in the rear with eaton posi, and I think a Dana 44 up front with 3/4 ton springs all around. Mine was 100% stock the way it came from the factory in 1984. Minus a few things like camo, and grill guard, your model looks very close. 2
Chuck Most Posted June 16 Author Posted June 16 Okay. Maybe I was conflating the 3/4 ton springs with the rest of the running gear. If I ever find a 6.2 diesel believe me, I have an actual M1009 planned. 😁 1

Not because it actually is an M1009. We know the difference, and just appreciate the build!

Eventually I'll do the M1009 but I need to build an M880 first. 🤣 1
stavanzer Posted June 18 Posted June 18 I like to see if the Camo Decals from the Revell Big Game Country pickup would fit this Blazer? I should go see about getting the decals.
