59 Impala Posted June 11 Posted June 11 Here are some pics of a 61 Impala that I rusted and weathered. I tried to make it look like it sat in the woods for a long time and green mold is growing on the North side of the car. This is the first time that I've tried this. In the back seat is a guitar, tv, rabbit ears and horn. On the front seat is a tire and battery. 8

Nice work, looks very realistic, especially how "crispy" the chassis is and the bondo spot on the fender. The moss is a cool touch of realism as well.
59 Impala Posted June 12 Author Posted June 12 Thanks guys. This was an experiment, and I liked how it turned out. I used pastels for the moss and rust. I sprayed the hood and interior with this Marker Air Brush kit that I got at Hobby Lobby. You just insert a sharpie in and pull the trigger and spray away. 2
Perspect Scale Modelworks Posted June 12 Posted June 12 That's gross. Great job! Reminds me of some of the cars pulled from the Florida waters after hurricane Ian.
slusher Posted June 15 Posted June 15 Very nice weathering, I saw HPI guy try that marker paint system,,,,
59 Impala Posted June 16 Author Posted June 16 Thanks for the kind words, guys. I try to make the builds like this to look as real as I can.
spencer1984 Posted Friday at 03:30 AM Posted Friday at 03:30 AM Great job on this, the weathering looks spot-on!
89AKurt Posted Friday at 04:06 AM Posted Friday at 04:06 AM Love it! What's next, dioramas? Keep exploring, I've wanted to do a shaggy really taken over level of moss weathering.
59 Impala Posted yesterday at 02:46 AM Author Posted yesterday at 02:46 AM Thanks everyone for the kind words.
