landman Posted June 12 Posted June 12 I had purchased this kit with the intent of doing a coupe version of this lovely turbochrged coach. However, when I went looking for it to get detailed photos of the engine, I found out the owner had died and no one knew if the car was still in town. There was a Y block in a bag in the box, so I might do a mild rod with it or go alittle wilder with a FI V12. 3
slusher Posted June 15 Posted June 15 (edited) Yblock should make a nice hotrod! Edited June 15 by slusher Typo
NOBLNG Posted June 15 Posted June 15 I love these kits. They aren’t great so I don’t mind trying heavy modifications!🤪 If you go with the V12, I am for sure following!😈
dino246gt Posted Wednesday at 01:28 PM Posted Wednesday at 01:28 PM (edited) I cut these parts out and ended up with a pretty decent frame! Easy to do. Edited Wednesday at 01:29 PM by dino246gt 1
sidcharles Posted Wednesday at 02:13 PM Posted Wednesday at 02:13 PM looks 100% better than stock kit frame. 1
dino246gt Posted Wednesday at 09:13 PM Posted Wednesday at 09:13 PM I just wanted to show Pat, "landman" what can be done with just kit parts. I did a lot more, but this is HIS thread, I don't want to post too much of MY stuff on it.
Anglia105E Posted Wednesday at 09:25 PM Posted Wednesday at 09:25 PM Those photos of the Ontario plate ' Turbo 36 ' are nice high resolution images to work from Pat, and I was wondering if the Y-block turbo engine would have been part of the AMT kit, or is this an aftermarket addition ? David

David The engine is a flathead with finned aluminum heads and a home made turbo application. I was trying to find the car to copy the engine but the owner has passed on and I could not find the car. landman Posted Thursday at 01:55 PM Author Posted Thursday at 01:55 PM OK.It will be one of those two. An LS V12 with crossram injection or a supercharged 312. 1
geemoney Posted Thursday at 05:52 PM Posted Thursday at 05:52 PM that LS NEEDS to be in an open car! lovely! 1
landman Posted Friday at 12:59 AM Author Posted Friday at 12:59 AM (edited) Opened up the front of the frame by removing the floor panels like Dennis did above. Widened the space at the front of the floor to accomadate the wider engines. Also picked a set of wheels in the stash Edited Friday at 01:00 AM by landman
