I had purchased this kit with the intent of doing a coupe version of this lovely turbochrged coach. However, when I went looking for it to get detailed photos of the engine, I found out the owner had died and no one knew if the car was still in town. There was a Y block in a bag in the box, so I might do a mild rod with it or go alittle wilder with a FI V12.

I love these kits. They aren’t great so I don’t mind trying heavy modifications!🤪 If you go with the V12, I am for sure following!😈

I cut these parts out and ended up with a pretty decent frame!

Easy to do.

I just wanted to show Pat, "landman" what can be done with just kit parts.

I did a lot more, but this is HIS thread, I don't want to post too much of MY stuff on it.

Those photos of the Ontario plate ' Turbo 36 ' are nice high resolution images to work from Pat, and I was wondering if the Y-block turbo engine would have been part of the AMT kit, or is this an aftermarket addition ?

The engine is a flathead with finned aluminum heads and a home made turbo application. I was trying to find the car to copy the engine but the owner has passed on and I could not find the car.

Opened up the front of the frame by removing the floor panels like Dennis did above. Widened the space at the front of the floor to accomadate the wider engines. Also picked a set of wheels in the stash

Nice! I must say I had my doubts that you would be able to squeeze that engine in there….but there it is.😎

Looking for a redépurole color for the upholstery I opened a can of Humbrol that is possibly over 40 years old. Lo and behold, it is still good.

Of course, now that we are more than halfway across the conversion, I find the rest of the photos of the Turbo V8. So I'll build one anyway and we'll stick it somewhere some day. I remember thinking that it was great workmanship when I had seen it.
