Looks like the engine needs to move forward just a tic for the injectors to clear the firewall. I'm recessingvthe firewall a little for better plug wire room.

Removed the molded engine mounts from the frame. I have it sitting where it should, the headers have clearance, the injector stacks have clearance.....the gearbox will not cohabitate with the driver side header. Hmmm.....looks like I'll have to build a  Schroeder box to be able to steer this guy.

That's looking pretty sweet there Topher.  That engine looks right at home setting in the business end.

Looking good - but:

Looks like you could open up the recessed firewall a tad both in width and height to fit those massive stacks and move the engine backwards. That would then give you room for the radiator and fan as the motor looks to close to even fit the radiator. You will need lots of cooling with that high horsepower motor.

Rrrrgh - this is what happens when we modify things - you spend a truck load of time making everything fit

Aligned and drilled a hole into the interior for the steering shaft. The box is next.

I've been thinking all day that I wanted a cool looking linkage on the cowl. I have some pe HURST shifters. I think that will look cool. My goal is to insert the shaft into the box from the outside.

Topher, That's a pretty cool idea to use that hurst shifter as part of the steering linkage, but 1.1, I would be thinking it wouldn't be a good thing. If ya can't steer it and stop it, It ain't worth building as they say. Thats alot of engine you're putting in there. It's going to look really cool when it's finished! Nice work so far!

Well, that's a fair observation. In my mind the angle of the shifter is perfect for this application as I could still open the door with the wheel turned all the way left. If it were a 1:1 ride I would work out the geometry for a rack and pinion steering gear. As far as stopping goes, I don't think that will be an issue. I really don't think those skinny little tires will EVER get enough traction for super high speeds. Especially sitting on my shelf. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
