Sure they did. I just spent good money on an old mint kit. I hope that they put all the parts from the old kit in this one.

The Jeepster is slated to be out in July. Will be interesting to see which parts are included in the kit as there were several variations back in the day. My guess is that it's the Mountain Goat kit minus the 1/20 scale tires and wheels.

Be nice to have the full top back.

Otherwise, I agree with Mike. The Mount'N Goat part II.

Here is what was in it 7 years ago.

With the box stating three ways to build, I hope that the kit is a repeat from the original. I hope that the snow plow is in the kit also, even though it was not shown on the box, but was included.

Can't say that MPC wasn't really trying hard in that era to bring value to the builder!  As a kid, I learned a lot about 1:1 from 1:25 kits - and I also recall they went together fairly well.

Sure would like to find a '68-'69 Jeepster builder kit, IIRC they were an early source for the diecast Ford XL wheel covers, or were pretty close.

Yeah, My thoughts (Wishes) are that Round2 Would run this kit One Last Time, and then restore it back to the 66/67 "Real" Jeepster look instead of this Square Grille Abomination. With the Very Recognizable "Jeep" Front End, it would sell better, as it would obviously be a Jeep, rather than the Anonymous, shapeless thing it is now.

I'll buy 2 when they hit the shelves, in order to do my small part in juicing the sales numbers. I can only hope it leads to a better future.

But, having the Long Roof and (maybe) the Snowplow back will certainly justify the purchase of more kits.

Man I swear... I sent Round 2 an email about kits that I'd like to see reissued, and with the future AMT and MPC releases announcement they published a couple days ago, I'm starting to think they really read my message!!!! I was searching for a Mountain Goat kit, but to build it as a stock-ish version, so this reissue is even more perfect!!! Man, the rest of the year is gonna get expensive for me!!!!😅

I’m fairly sure some of the “real” (pre ‘72) Jeepster body parts came with the last Mountain Goat release. I’m not at home now to check, but I think the front face/ grille piece, and headlights from the old kit were in the box. From what I remember, they cannot be adapted to the ‘72 body, the body and hood are too different from the ‘71-and-before version. I was really hoping when I saw them in there, though.

If you have to scratch that itch, Welly does a nice 1/24 diecast of the early Jeepster. I picked one up at a drugstore for about $12.99 awhile back.

They are in the Box. Many years ago (2015?) Somebody on the Spotlight Hobbies Board did a Step-by-Step tutorial with Photos on how to use some of the existing kit parts (including that Grill) to bring the Jeep front end back. I printed it out at the same, but have since lost it.

Cybermodeler has an article about a group build by the FRAM Front Range Auto Modelers, of the kit. It was done in 2007, long before Round2 brought it back, and there is some explanation in the article on getting the Jeep Front end back on the kit. Sadly, no How-to pics.

The grille in the kit now, is the OG Grille, and will fit on the inner fenders, to make a Half-Hearted start toward the older front end, but that still leaves the  Hood and other bits to make it correct. Somebody who is a member over there might ask if anyone remembers the How-to that was posted, and see if they have a Copy saved. I have seen a couple similar requests get answered in the last few months, so somebody may still have it.

Here is HPI Guys's Review. You can view the old grill at 3.25 sec in, and the later you can see the separate inner fenders. I ma a Huge fan of this kit, and just getting the Long Roof Back will open my wallet again.

Nice build.

I will buy one just for the full roof. But if it comes with all the other stuff I will buy more.

I will post up some pics later of the last issue Mount-N- Goat and a resin body replica of the original Jeepster body comparing the two. The original grill is in the MnG version so its a matter of converting the body from the cowl forward to accept the grille and have the correct shape wheel opening & fender. Could be something easily done using a recent Jeep CJ kit, not sure. I bought the resin body years ago when Olson Bros was offering them, I think they used an original body as the master.

Excited for this, the Mountain Goat is one of my favorite kits and I am thrilled to see the wagon roof back. If the plow is back, even better.

As for wheels/tires, I never cared for MPC Desert Dogs and would swap those for Revellogram Denman Ground Hawgs converted with a "tube" aka parts box tire inside to be properly directional and use a parts bin Jackman style rim.
