leafsprings2 Posted July 4 Posted July 4 (edited) Used one of my last AITM conversion kits to build a '65 single drive 281. Went with dual headlights and Stabilaire rear suspension on this build. Under hood is the 250 Cummins, the standard Peterbilt engine in this era. Wheels are aftermarket resin pieces and tires are real rubber Double Takes. Paint was Testors Champagne Gold Metallic Edited July 4 by leafsprings2 12
BK9300 Posted July 4 Posted July 4 Very nice build! Hard to find rubber tires like the ones you have on this truck. 1
leafsprings2 Posted July 7 Author Posted July 7 (edited) Thanks for all the positive comments. Hope these conversions get back into circulation. Edited July 20 by leafsprings2 1
leafsprings2 Posted September 3 Author Posted September 3 Thanks again for all the likes on this build.
stavanzer Posted Monday at 02:23 AM Posted Monday at 02:23 AM I just found this old Pete. What a great build. It captures the look of the trucks I remember seeing back in the day. Good Show.
RoninUtah Posted Monday at 05:14 PM Posted Monday at 05:14 PM Very well done! Great period-correct detailing, I love the aluminum steer wheels/ steel drive wheels. I did one of these AITM conversions a few years ago, I did mine as a 3-axle 358 model, also 1965 with the stabil-aire suspension. A nice companion to the 359.
