Brutalform Posted Tuesday at 06:22 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:22 PM Just found out he passed today, the 22nd. I had a feeling something was up with that last concert in the UK. Mostly all of the music I loved over the years, goes back to that one band. RIP Ozzy Osbourne.
Earl Marischal Posted Tuesday at 06:38 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:38 PM Not a surprise but still sad. Unique and inspirational to thousands, his music will live on. steve
NYLIBUD Posted Tuesday at 06:54 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:54 PM (edited) I can’t believe he died.I knew he was sick for some time, but it’s still a shocker.I would have to add that Black Sabbath was my favorite band, yet I never saw them live.RIP Ozzy😞 Edited Tuesday at 07:11 PM by NYLIBUD
Calb56 Posted Tuesday at 06:57 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:57 PM My son just texted me about this... As sad as when Lemmy passed. No more sad ...
Mike C Posted Tuesday at 07:09 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:09 PM That sure is sad. Early Black Sabbath was great.
slusher Posted Tuesday at 07:16 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:16 PM I liked some of his music and he is a music legend I feel for Sharon and his kids may he R.I.P.
johnyrotten Posted Tuesday at 07:42 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:42 PM Some of my first exposure to metal was Black Sabbath and Ozzy. Rest in peace Ozzy.
TonyK Posted Tuesday at 07:44 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:44 PM Black Sabbath was always a favorite "go to" when I want to listen to some hard rock. Still remember giving away my Vol. 4 album in the early days because the music freaked me out. Don't know how to describe it but I bought it again in my adult years. So many great songs from them over the years. Thank you Ozzy! 1
Dragline Posted Tuesday at 08:50 PM Posted Tuesday at 08:50 PM That Ozzy lived to 76 is the miracle. Saw Van Halen open for the original Sabbath in 78. Never Say Die tour and Ozzie's last hurrah before being fired. Saw Ozzman so many times. I probably paid for something in his house. Think of how lucky you are. The earth is Billions of years old and you lived in the time of Sabbath, Van Halen and Led Zeppelin. Count yourself fortunate. 5
Brutalform Posted Tuesday at 09:15 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 09:15 PM I was lucky enough to see him solo, on his No Rest For The Wicked tour. It was at the Philadelphia Spectrum, with Anthrax as an opening act. I went to that show because of Anthrax. I will admit at that time, I was really tired of the same songs over played, and wanted to see Anthrax more than anything. Needless to say, after that show, Ozzy was all new again for me. I’ll never forget the first time I heard Black Sabbath in the 70s scared the heck out of me. 1 1
Volzfan59 Posted Tuesday at 09:39 PM Posted Tuesday at 09:39 PM The first concert that I went to was in ‘73, Knoxville, TN. Black Sabbath was on their Sabbath Bloody Sabbath tour. Opening act was a band called Hydra. At 13 years of age, I was amazed to say the least. Both bands were great. 1
tim08 Posted Tuesday at 11:42 PM Posted Tuesday at 11:42 PM Saw him 4 times, twice in the 80s with Jake E Lee on guitar, once in the 90s with a little blond guy on guitar...don't know who he was but man he was good. It wasn't Zack. And once with Sabbath in either late 90s or early 2000s, All 4 great shows. 4 3
STU111 Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago RIP Ozzy. A true legend of Rock and Roll. The Grandfather of heavy metal, he had the talent and lived the rock star life to the fullest. Thank you for the music.
webestang Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago RIP.......Saw him during his "Ozzmosis" tour in the 90's.
Volzfan59 Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago 16 hours ago, Dragline said: Buncha Metalheads round here. I retired from metal when I discovered The Marshall Tucker Band, The Outlaws, Charlie Daniels Band, etc. But, Black Sabbath was amazing back in their day. What a way to see my first concert! The original lineup of Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, Bill Ward and of course Ozzy were one of a kind. Kinda like Led Zeppelin, one of those acts that will never be replaced. 1 1
Dragline Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago I loved those bands in the day and now also. I love all of it I guess.. When you get down to it, anything driven by a rowdy guitar is enough to get my blood pumping. 1
stavanzer Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I've always been more of a Def Lepard/Krokus fan, than Ozzie. But, there was nobody quite like him. He will be missed.
Dragline Posted 51 minutes ago Posted 51 minutes ago While Jake is my favorite Ozzy guitarist, No Rest For The Wicked is one of my top two favorite albums. Zakk's debut and just crammed with great stuff. Check out Breaking All The Rules for truly heavy Ozzy. Brilliant stuff on the entire album.
JollySipper Posted 8 minutes ago Posted 8 minutes ago Do any of you guys remember the SNL skit where Horatio Sanz played Ozzy? They were joking that nobody could understand his speaking, but figured out they could understand perfectly what he was Singing! So they had Horatio, or 'Ozzy' sing what he had to say........... It was pretty funny, and endearing the way they did it. I bet even Mr. Osbourne laughed at that one!
