This is not a reissue--it's a modified version of the new tool mid 80s Blazer that came out a while back.  The box art in the first post of this thread shows a stock hood.

Thanks good to know that it’s based off the new tool kit they recently came out with. Seeing the High roller on the box just sent my mind back to the 80’s issue of it. Never did like that hood.

Oddly Enough, I want that hood very badly.

I'd like it for a GMC pickup build I have planned.

And that Monogram Jimmy was 1/24th...was only issued once in 1980 it looks like..

Pretty well all the off road accessories on that Jimmy kit ['80s Monogram 1/24 kit] came directly from the Hickey off road catalogue.

Hood, fender flares, wheels, headers, winch and brush guard,  , , all of it was available from them.

When I think of late model engine bays, I think of the mess under the hood of the late model Bronco.
Sure, not the same as the Mustang, but it definitely left me with a "meh" feeling. A feeling that carries on with other late models.

Man, you could sprinkle a whole roll of dimes over that engine and none of them would hit the pavement.

Imagine having to work on that mess 😬

Yeah, anything modern I just leave to the dealer to work on.  I couldn't imagine trying to do anything under the hood of most modern vehicles.

The other new tool on offer is the Lamborghini Reveulto. This kit continues the recent trend of Revell Germany based tools coming "factory prepped" with both LHD & RHD.

Does anyone know about when this might be out? Looks like it’s far enough into development that it’s almost a complete product. Would really like to build one of these!

I'm not that bothered by the Mustang not having an engine as the kit is a snap kit designed for entry or less experience modelers. So, I get it, although the engine inserts are an interesting idea. I've seen them for some 1/35 kits. What I'm really hoping is that Revell doesn't mold this kit "in color", but I have a feeling that this kit & the Lamborghini will both be molded in color. The Lamborghini in yellow & the Mustang in the Dreaded Red Plastic for the same reasons that the kit doesn't have an engine.

I would be down for the Atlantis opening-doors '55 (plus the '57, for that matter), if only just for kitbashing material, especially for the "Competition Wheels" tree that will be included. I could easily see nabbing one of the newer tool Revellogram tri-fives and making a period '60's C/Gas or B/Gas car, or an early Modified Production car. Those kits are brimming with some pretty accurate period goodies, including that cast aluminum hood scoop (Ansen? Possibly?) in the '55, which to my knowledge, hasn't been kitted elsewhere. Those scoops were the darling of the Modified Production classes in 1964-65. Crossram-equipped M/P cars often ran two of them in slightly staggered positions directly above the carbs on each bank. If you wanted to lean into that Idea a little harder, you could source the crossram-equipped 409 from the AMT 62 Impala Super Stock kit.

Yea, those scoops were pretty neat. They were Cal Custom.
