1960 Mercury Park Lane two door hardtop

Restoration completed today and these are fresh pics. This AMT model is 1/25 scale. Originally brush painted with heavy coats by the first owner, I had the car repainted and detailed using Bare Metal Foil.

Really nice save and rebuild! Proudly displays all the glamour of early/mid-1960's American cars... glamour being a word that describes almost no autos in this day and age!

I'm curious what paint color that Green is; to my eyes it goes really well with the Black.

Beautiful restoration! I love the color combination! Reminds me of when my Dad and I were restoring my 68 Nova back in the late 70’s. I wanted to paint it Grecian Green with a black vinyl top so my Dad painted the roof green. The body was in black primer and I drove it to work and college that way til 1981. Fast forward to 2004 and we did a full restoration on it back to its original butternut yellow. But this color combo on your Mercury sure brought back the memories!

Was the reissue of this kit in the late '60s only in the "Flower Power" series... or was it also part of the Mexcian RR series?

I recall both vividly; both the Westland Sears and the local Monkey Wards carried them. Had the Merc, Ranchero and Galaxie, pretty much the last of the cars before veering off to WW2 aircraft and ships for a few years.

nice,''

I have this same kit , only convertible

I started the redo a few months back. But Im not happy with the paint result . SO it sits until I either decide to strip or. Or just suck it up and push it across the finish line
