Hello, fellows! There's been a bunch of talk (and very cool stories and pics) pertaining to the Fox chassis Mustangs lately. It's kinda got me wanting to build a model of the one I had in my late teens. It was a '91 model notch, the Revell LX kit would obviously be the kit to use. There's some differences between the kit and my old car...... The most important difference is mine was an automatic. I believe the kit has a manual, correct? I know that Revell's '32 5-window has a Ford fuel injected engine as a build choice........ Wouldn't that be the correct transmission for my build? The other thing that made the car stand out was it had what looked like SN95 Mustang GT wheels. They were actually aftermarket, chrome and missing the pony. This pic shows what they looked like, only they were chromed.......

Is there a source kit that these came in? Also, it had a Saleen wing on the trunk. Is there  a source for Saleen wings, either kit or aftermarket? Maybe 3D printed?

Just these three differences from the kit will be what will make the model more personal for myself. The transmission, wheels, and the wing for the trunk......

Anyways, guys, just feeling a bit of nostalgia lately, I hope that's alright!

I'll have a look in the Revell '32 5W and let you know.

AND...I'm pretty sure I have a set of those wheels somewhere, but where is anybody's guess.

If I can find 'em they're yours.

Anybody else can help this man, don't wait around for me, 'cause it might take me a while.

I thought I remember seeing those wheels in a kit, but it took some looking to finally find them.  Looks like they were in an AMT/Ertl 1997 Ford Mustang GT kit.  I found a couple of the kits on eBay right now.  I also tried looking to see if anyone was offering it in a 3D file, but so far I haven't found any.

As for the Saleen rear wing, I wasn't sure what it actually looked like, but I found a 3D file on the Cults3D website that says it is listed for the Revell Foxbody Saleen Spoiler.

Good luck with your project.

That wheel you show is a 5 lug wheel, not sure if converted yours to 5 lug. They did make a generic "pony" wheel back in the day similar to this in 4 lug .........

There was a Saleen wing available in the Monogram kits of the convertible. Vintage Monogram ‘89 Ford MUSTANG GT Convertible 1:24 Scale Model Kit #2911 - Picture 1 of 5

Hey, guys! Thanks for the help so far...... It's good to see that the parts I need are available in a kit. The wheels on the old car did indeed look like the ones in the OP, and were 4-lug. I remember the four lug setup because I had to change the front rotors once. (I bought them at Advance and changed them in the parking lot....) They would have to have been aftermarket wheels of some sort........

I have the kit with the blue car on the box posted by Leo64 above.

Unfortunately it's missing both wheels and tires. I don't remember where I got it, but it probably came in pre-cherry picked with a bunch of other models.

However...I'm almost certain I had another complete set in a "to trade" box, but where they are now is anybody's guess.

I had moved a ton of parts and kits to AZ back in 2021, and they're still there...maybe.

I'll keep looking here.

These are the wheels included in that kit. They are undersized versions of the wheels on the car pictured on the instruction sheet, not the box top.

Oh, that sucks! Knowing my luck, the wheels I need don't exist in a kit at all..........

I'm about 97.827756 % sure I've seen 'em...but that still leaves room I could be wrong. ;)

Brian, I wonder how similar the engines between those two kits are...... Like, will the Mustang engine parts (heads, intake, and such) fit onto the block from the Deuce? They're the same scale and maker, so they are bound to be close......

Most likely everything will interchange relatively easily.

Though I've never done this particular mashup, it's been my experience that most engine parts from the same engine family (in this case SBF) in the same scale will swap quite nicely with a little massaging.

This engine is a mashup of ancient Revell, semi-current Revell, and very old AMT Olds parts.

The way the motor mounts work is different, I might try to use the Mustang oil pan because it has the mounts molded to it. They're pretty close otherwise, I think the 32 kit has more accurately shaped valve covers.
