David G. Posted Friday at 12:50 PM Posted Friday at 12:50 PM Hello Everybody! This is Revell's 1950 Oldsmobile Club Coupe, it can be built one of three ways. First is stock, which would be my usual choice. Option two is a replica of the winner of the 1950 Pan American Road Race. I have to admit that did I seriously considered this building one. And finally, (not pictured on the box) there's a traditional Stock Car, pre-NASCAR. This goes back to the old ASCA (American Stock Car Association)- from the early days. Back when Stock Car racing used... stock cars. This is the version I chose. I have a complete WIP Build thread if you're interested in seeing what went on behind the scenes. Now, on with the show! 1950 Oldsmobile Club Coupe, build completed! Though not a direct representation of the actual Stock Car, the decals were easy to work with and look good on the car. Of the three options offered I chose the Darlington Stock Car. Which wasn't even pictured on the box. This was a great kit to build, well engineered and nicely cast. As always, thanks for taking the time to look and please feel free to post any comments or questions you may have. David G. 17
Jim B Posted Friday at 01:56 PM Posted Friday at 01:56 PM Great looking Oldsmobile. Very well done. Might have to look int this kit.
Ragtop Man Posted Friday at 03:31 PM Posted Friday at 03:31 PM Really nice! Marshall Griffin is a FB regular and always posting pix of the surviving Fastback sportsman car - he'd be very interested to see this!
papajohn97 Posted Friday at 06:11 PM Posted Friday at 06:11 PM Fantastic job David! Love these early 50's GM sedans (spent my younger years riding in the backseat of my parent's '52 Chevy). I wish Revell had issued Chevy and Pontiac versions of this kit, the AMT '51 Chevy Fleetline body is just plain weird.
espo Posted Friday at 06:43 PM Posted Friday at 06:43 PM Great looking paint colors and finish, like the NASCAR signage. Your build thread shows your attention to detailing the engine and interior.

Given the similar body designs it wouldn't be difficult to tool-up the brand variants. Like what Moebius did with the Ford pickup and Hudson Hornet. 17 hours ago, espo said: Great looking paint colors and finish, like the NASCAR signage. The decals came in the kit, they're not completely accurate but they do look good. 14 hours ago, karbuildr said: Awesome build. Rattlecan Dan Posted Saturday at 06:44 PM Posted Saturday at 06:44 PM Sorry I'm a little late-to the show. Very nice presentation of the Old Olds. Really nice.
