66c10 Posted Saturday at 06:09 PM Posted Saturday at 06:09 PM Does anyone know when the 72 Plymouth duster coming out and how much and any box art
Mark Posted Sunday at 12:12 AM Posted Sunday at 12:12 AM Said to be coming before years' end. Price will be in line with other Round 2 car kits coming at the same time. No box art made public as of now.
1972coronet Posted Sunday at 06:27 PM Posted Sunday at 06:27 PM I'm just guessing here -- perhaps a Retro-Deluxe packaging bearing a strong resemblance to the MPC 1972 annual . 1
THarrison351 Posted Monday at 01:38 AM Posted Monday at 01:38 AM This would be cool! I customized a diecast of his car a long time ago. 2
gtx6970 Posted Monday at 02:17 PM Posted Monday at 02:17 PM (edited) This variation isnt real high on my want list as I have a few originals. ' But " If they decided to make it A bench seat version,,,,,,, it could change that Edited Monday at 02:20 PM by gtx6970

The new iteration is - according to images I've seen - sans console ! YEA ! The interior will provide the correct , 1972 upholstery and dashboard, which will work to convert the '71 Demon to a '72 with zero tedious work. 1

I’ll buy a couple either way, but it would be nice to have options, and make it easier to toss together a base model to go alongside the 340 version. Might even buy an extra one if that were the case.

Agreed Ive always liked the 72 Demon grill over the 71 version myself. So if thats the case I'll grab at least one for the interior alone Edited 21 hours ago by gtx6970 1
Mark Posted Monday at 08:48 PM Posted Monday at 08:48 PM This kit, and the existing '71, are both correct in not having a console. The console was only available with the automatic transmission. The annual kits had the console and automatic transmission but a four-speed transmission (a common issue with annual kits). The Volare kits had engine block halves with the automatic, and those will interchange with the annual Duster, Demon, and Dart Sport kit parts. 2

Every one of those MPC annual A-bodies are equipped with a console, but with a manual trans. This includes the new 1971 Demon 340 : console with automatic shifter, manual transmission. Exceptions ? The Pro Stock Series Duster kits ; those have stripped down interior buckets (no rear seat, no console). Yes, the 1976-1980 annual F-bodies have a 318 (under-scale) with an automatic. The first new Demon 340 I've been working on ; I used the block / transmission from the 1980 Volaré , with the Demon's heads, etc. Fits like two left-handed gloves, no sweat.
Mark Posted Monday at 09:50 PM Posted Monday at 09:50 PM Only the Sox & Martin, and Mopar Missile Duster kits had the gutted interior bucket. The ('72) California Flash kit has a stock interior bucket with console and stock rear seat. 1

I'd forgotten that the '72 P/S Duster still had the stock interior ; the others being 1973 models.
