I would venture to guess that it is for Accessing the magneto since it appears to be hidden behind a firewall. (true this is a highly detailed model but I expect is accurate)

Painted with Vallejo acrylics.  Model air French blue over mecha color sky blue.

paints mixed in airbrush cup with with a bush using several drops of airbrush flow improver, a little Vallejo thinner and a drop of retarder medium

.5mm needle at 25 psi

Will remove flexible tamiya masking tape tomorrow and see if any French blue bleed under it

Very nicely built and finished classic Bugatti.

Lovely radially spoked wheels as found also on a T59 really compliment this model. Do they have to be built up ?

Yes. They are nice thin photo etch wheels that you build up

Thanks for coming back on the wheels Tom.

I have a very old white metal Wills (South Eastern Finecast) Bugatti Type 59 that those wheels would be perfect for so will contact LMM to find out if they sell them as a separate item set.

I had another look at your T57 pictures and have to say what a superb paint job you did on it. The kit really looks nice and I am sorely tempted to buy one looking at your result. As I mentioned before that a friend of mine has also built one and speaks very highly of the kit.

Got the book on this beast - i’ll answer your question - in the meantime - what was your method of paint finish and did you manage without clear coat ? ??
