Fat Brian Posted Sunday at 02:56 PM Posted Sunday at 02:56 PM I slapped this together from leftover parts from an upcoming 67 Shelby GT500 build. Its built in "day 2" style, maybe somebody pulled some strings or was buddies with the local Ford dealer and got a 65 K-code engine installed in an early production 66 Fairlane. I filled the GT hood vents and added wheel lip moldings and ones behind the rear wheels to complete the 500XL trim. I also added a wood rim steering wheel. The 67 Shelby donated its 289 and Magstar wheels. I also raised the upper edge of the roof to look more correct. I cut 2.5mm out of the front edge of the roof the added a 1mm strip back and shaped it into the top window trim. It looks better but the windshield is pretty distorted in that area. 18
STU111 Posted Sunday at 03:35 PM Posted Sunday at 03:35 PM I always liked the look of these Fairlanes. Nice job on this one. 👍🏻 Top stuff. 1
espo Posted Sunday at 07:50 PM Posted Sunday at 07:50 PM Converting the body trim to the more often found 500 XL trim level looks great. The paint color and finish are beautifully done. This would have been a fun driver with the high strung 271 hp 289 cu in and a 4-speed. Nice looking interior detailing. 1
ford fan Posted Sunday at 08:00 PM Posted Sunday at 08:00 PM I like these Fairlanes & this model is very interesting. The roof is clearly wrong on the Amt body but you managed to correct that successfully. 1
stavanzer Posted Sunday at 08:03 PM Posted Sunday at 08:03 PM I like the look of the Fairlane, and this one is special! Perfect Paint and Finish. Good Show. 1
DJMar Posted yesterday at 02:07 AM Posted yesterday at 02:07 AM I love the look of the '66-'67 Fairlanes. This one is a beauty, really clean build & great concept. Nice work on the roof, that's one of the big bugaboos of the AMT kit. It really makes a difference. 1
Rattlecan Dan Posted yesterday at 02:19 AM Posted yesterday at 02:19 AM Very nice-looking build. Nice getting after the details. 1
beeRS Posted yesterday at 05:50 AM Posted yesterday at 05:50 AM That is stunning! At first glance, I thought I was looking at a sepia tone photo of a 1:1 car. Good work with the windshield. 1
PappyD340 Posted yesterday at 08:56 AM Posted yesterday at 08:56 AM Super nice Fairlane, well done! 1
Chuckyg1 Posted yesterday at 12:04 PM Posted yesterday at 12:04 PM This is a sweet build. Perfect in every way. 1
