angelo7 Posted Saturday at 09:05 PM Posted Saturday at 09:05 PM (edited) I did these maybe 4 years ago. Not a drop of paint. Did them like that just to reminisce my childhood (1970s) builds. They were essentially glue bombs. I build a little better now. Edited Saturday at 09:07 PM by angelo7 9 1
Chris in Berwyn Posted Sunday at 01:43 AM Posted Sunday at 01:43 AM The white JJ car looks really cool in white. 1

Shark Posted Sunday at 02:01 AM Posted Sunday at 02:01 AM When I was a little kid taking up the hobby my dad wouldn't let me build one without painting all the parts (with a brush back then). I guess he figured the longer it took to build one, the less he would have to buy. 1 2
stavanzer Posted Sunday at 02:21 AM Posted Sunday at 02:21 AM They look Fine. There is a whole subclass of model building called Naked Modeling. Just Glue and Decals. Some guys use it as slump buster, others because it is simple and recalls childhood memories. It's all good. 2
Dragline Posted Sunday at 02:08 PM Posted Sunday at 02:08 PM I'm with below. The JJ car is wild in white. 1
Coyote_6 Posted Sunday at 04:10 PM Posted Sunday at 04:10 PM I like it! Very cool vibe. Like the bone model ships that prisoners made in the Napoleonic wars. Anyway, actually pretty cool. I prefer white plastic kits to all the ones molded in color anyway. Something different! Steve 1

I think I remember some people doing this a few years ago and calling them "ghost models", ?? I couldn't bring myself to do it but it sure would be a help in clearing out someone's unbuilt stash. 😉 2
angelo7 Posted Sunday at 04:33 PM Author Posted Sunday at 04:33 PM As a kid I think I could build one of these in just a couple of hours (if that). Drag racing cars were my passion. Not one sticker was left. I loved the racing stickers. I started painting models later as a teenager. 2
meechum68 Posted Sunday at 07:44 PM Posted Sunday at 07:44 PM I really liked those build! Nice work! 1
bobthehobbyguy Posted Monday at 03:17 PM Posted Monday at 03:17 PM They look cool. The important thing is if you found the builds enjoyable. 2
Quiet Eric Posted yesterday at 03:07 AM Posted yesterday at 03:07 AM Steve Magnante did a few a while back similarly and called them "funny car folk art". I built a '65 gto altered wheelbase the same way, zero paint. I don't plan to make a habit of it, but it was a pretty fun and quick slumpbuster! Yours are pretty darn cool. 1
ybsluos Posted yesterday at 05:14 AM Posted yesterday at 05:14 AM Angel they look like clean builds! I do like them and your skills are impressive these days as evidenced by your wicked dragster! -Mark
Bainford Posted yesterday at 01:01 PM Posted yesterday at 01:01 PM I dig 'em, especially the Old pro Nova. It really projects the early-years vibe. cool stuff.
M W Elky Posted yesterday at 02:00 PM Posted yesterday at 02:00 PM These simple build takes me back to a time when my uncle gave me a AMT 40 Ford on my seventh birthday it would have been 1977 and if memory serves me correctly the box art showed a green 40 ford . We built it stock out of the box in raw white plastic . With the steel axles it rolled really nice and I played with it for years , and isn’t that what it’s all about when you’re 7 years old . Job well done
angelo7 Posted 16 hours ago Author Posted 16 hours ago (edited) Thank you all for the nice comments. But I thought nobody was going to like them as the title says, "You will not like these". 🙂 Edited 16 hours ago by angelo7
