HankinWisconsin Posted November 23 Posted November 23 I'm Hank from La Crosse Wisconsin and have been out of the hobby for 50+ years. Jumped back in recently with both feet and enjoying the heck out of it thus far! My current modeling interests are 60's and 70's vintage muscle cars, early rods, and drag cars. My first 1:1 vehicle was a triple black 1968 GTO 4-speed car, I feel fortunate to have grown up during that era. Pro Street gets my motor revving as does what I call "Real Street" (typically a muscle car that I may have had the means to build as a broke teenager, just a boulevard cruiser with some minor speed equipment in effect). Love a good backstory on builds and intend on adding them for what that's worth.
Big John Posted November 23 Posted November 23 Hello Hank, welcome to the forum. Look forward to seeing some of your builds. Don't be put off by some of the builds you see here. Box stock or extreme scratch builds, they are all good! 1

Jim Dodson Posted November 26 Posted November 26 Welcome to the forum Hank. Jealous of your 'first Car'. Mine was a '64 Buick that kept eating fuel pumps and front ends. When I traded it in for my 1971 Beattle, the dealer had to send a tow truck to the barracks on base to take possession of it! I swear it was running when I visited the dealership the previous day to make the deal! 1
MR. Macabre Posted November 27 Posted November 27 My aunt and uncle live in LaCrosse, the last time I was there was in 1979. Your interests in cars sounds exactly like mine, muscle cars, street machines, pro street builds, and drag cars. My first real car was a '68 OLDS 442 packing a '70 W30 455 under the hood. I had a lot of fun pampering and driving that car until I had to sell it in '88. 1
HankinWisconsin Posted November 27 Author Posted November 27 That Oldsmobile was a pretty potent street machine! 1

That car was a blast to drive, and it wasn't a Chevy or a Ford! Our then 5 year old son called the OLDS the race car. I still regret having to sell it, but my wife was pregnant with our daughter, so she referred to it as a maternity sale.
