There are more custom parts in the '57 Ford than are shown in the instructions.  It has the Stylizing vertical quad headlamp setup.

It does not have the Stylizing front and rear extensions, or the Edsel wagon taillight bezels.  I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for those to come back, as they were probably chopped out of the tool fifty years ago to fit the fuel injection tubes in.  They're in the space on the tree where the bezels were in earlier issues.  The Stylizing extensions were probably cut out so other parts could be put in later.

For the Hot Wheels series, I’m surprised that they chose the ‘69 COPO Camaro over the AMT ‘68 Camaro Z/28 Street Machine kit.

Add some redline tires, an RS grille, and  include the blower setup and you’d have a decent ‘Heavy Chevy’ Hot Wheels model…

Yes, all these components would require being retooled, we know that.
Round2 has surprised us with much more elaborate re-toolings in the recent past.

Surprise of the century: did not have VINCENT on my bingo card, and now I seriously want him!

In the theatre as a child, was terrorized by the Black Hole's ending; found it on VHS in the 90s, then got it on disc in the 00s.

Love this film so much, and seeing this little guy put a smile on my face.

Also the Widebody is a must-have. Great stuff, Round 2! Thank you!

The 1993 revisions further cut into the stylizing parts cavities. That said, judging by a short shot I have on hand, the 57 Chevy tool still has all of it's stylizing parts. (Minus the chopped window glass. It's been running replacement clear parts since the Ertl years). Custom wheels are updated as well. I've been bugging John G. to open the gates for years.

I had a V.I.N.C.E.N.T. kit way back in the day...from what I remember, it had some neat details- "hands", "telescoping hover balls" (I don't know what else to call them), rotating head. It should be a fun build.

I re-watched "The Black Hole" recently...a LOT to unpack there...did my version of "MST3000" with a few of my friends via screenshots & text while watching. 😁

Right you are, Bill! I did some research last night and some dude got a hold of an original kit and built it up! Lots of extra bits and display options!

But wait... there's more! He also commissioned a fully-lit, life-size 3D print, and WOW!

I like the Ranchero diecasts and wish some were also available in 1/25th scale plastic.  I'd especially like a '67 XL, '70 GT, '72 or '73 GT, and a '77-'79 GT.

I'm waiting for the Indy drag combo kit to come in and the hellcat charger widebody to come excited for those to kits and waiting for more kits next year to have on the shelves five in particular

Really looking forward to the Charger Hellcat!

But that 69 Camaro mold needs to be put out to pasture.

I agree. They seem to be reissuing that kit every few years.  Revell has their excellent full detail ‘69 available right now so there’s no reason to buy that old hack job by Round 2.

I’d like to see Revell reissue their ‘69 Camaro Z28 snap kits again, though.  The “Hot Wheels” ‘69 Z28/RS and the SnapTite ‘69 Z28/SS.  Although they have no engine detail, the body and interior were very well done…just as good as the full detail glue kit.

Call me crazy, but I have a thing for those old custom parts. If they would re-tool the custom (styline and the bezels for the Edsel tailights) parts for the '57 Fairlane I would buy it. I already have several without those parts in my stah, so I'll pass.

Apparently the Trophy Series custom parts have not found their way back into the Fairlane kit.

I haven't read all the replies, but the mild custom f/r pans are in there, and the vertical quad headlights.  Alas, no DeSoto grille bar, which really makes a custom version sing.

As much as I love the wild, full-on f/r pans, they need a lot of work to fit (and look) right.

It has been done... a builder on the SH board sectioned and cleaned up similar parts for the '57 Chevy Trophy and improved the look 100%.

Now if someone had a scanner, and the chops, they might be able to look at those original parts and 3D tailor them for a 'wow' factor.

The DeSoto grille bar IS in the recent reissue '57 Ford kit.  It's not shown on the box (other than the parts layout) or mentioned in the instructions because the Stylizing extension needed to use it isn't in the kit.

I'd suspect that 99% of the people who want the deleted parts could find them in a parts box or started older issue kit, and there aren't enough of them to make tooling those parts a thing.
