Kelly Posted yesterday at 12:58 AM Posted yesterday at 12:58 AM Hello again. I took up model car building around 3 months ago. This is my first car. I have a build in the wip section and have a couple of issues with it, so I put it on a time out. I have had such a huge response to some questions I had. So with all the knowledge, experience, advice and tips on how to’s you have given me, I decided to take this one of the shelf and add a couple of touches you all have taught me. First I removed the front grill and 2 lower grill’s. I tried my hand at a wash and then did the valve covers, (shh don’t tell anyone that the valve covers are on upside down) intake manifold, carbs, water pump and fan area. So next I looked at the hood side and the vents, I said, Kelly they taught you about bmf. So I tried my hand at after paint bmf. So there you have it. I respect all opinions, good or bad. That’s why I’m here, to learn all I can. Thank you all!! Kelly 16

papajohn97 Posted yesterday at 01:58 AM Posted yesterday at 01:58 AM Beautiful job for a first build (or even 4th or 5th!). Love the two-tone red & black and the washes on the grill & engine look great. Keep building & posting!

Thank you so much I have a second build but I tried a two tone paint but my shakey hands left my masking job really gagged edges, not very good. But I am thinking about posting it, maybe. Thanks again Kelly

Bainford Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Nice work, Kelly. Solid effort. That black washing really brings out the details and wakens up a build, don't you think? Nice work there, and bravo for giving foil a try. Good stuff, well done.

Thanks for your kind words Ya ya I think it gave it depth So much different than the post I did on the welcome section And foil was kinda hard but the best thing was I messed up a couple of times and I could take it off!!! And start over!! So everyone has made a big difference I feel more confident how Thank you Kelly

johnyrotten Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Really nice "clean" first build Kelly. Great paint work, the red over black looks perfect on there.
NOBLNG Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Great work Kelly.👍 Foiling can be tedious work, but it is the absolute best treatment for trim and well worth mastering. Looks like you’ve got a pretty good handle on it.😎
Mark W Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Welcome Kelly. Looks like you’re off to a good start, fine model. You’ve picked a good forum to join, lots of nice people here. I’ll throw in my 2cents advice, just have patience and try a technique more than once, you’ll improve each time.
