Hello again. I took up model car building around 3 months ago. This is my first car. I have a build in the wip section and have a couple of issues with it, so I put it on a time out. I have had such a huge response to some questions I had. So with all the knowledge, experience, advice and tips on how to’s you have given me, I decided to take this one of the shelf and add a couple of touches you all have taught me. First I removed the front grill and 2 lower grill’s. I tried my hand at a wash and then did the valve covers, (shh don’t tell anyone that the valve covers are on upside down) intake manifold, carbs, water pump and fan area. So next I looked at the hood side and the vents, I said, Kelly they taught you about bmf. So I tried my hand at after paint bmf. So there you have it.
I respect all opinions, good or bad. That’s why I’m here, to learn all I can.
Thank you all!!
Kelly

Beautiful job for a first build (or even 4th or 5th!). Love the two-tone red & black and the washes on the grill & engine look great. Keep building & posting!

Thank you so much I have a second build but I tried a two tone paint but my shakey hands left my masking job really gagged edges, not very good. But I am thinking about posting it, maybe.
Thanks again

Nice work, Kelly. Solid effort. That black washing really brings out the details and wakens up a build, don't you think? Nice work there, and bravo for giving foil a try. Good stuff, well done.

Thanks for your kind words Ya ya I think it gave it depth So much different than the post I did on the welcome section And foil was kinda hard but the best thing was I messed up a couple of times and I could take it off!!! And start over!! So everyone has made a big difference I feel more confident how

Thank you

Great work Kelly.👍 Foiling can be tedious work, but it is the absolute best treatment for trim and well worth mastering. Looks like you’ve got a pretty good handle on it.😎

Welcome Kelly.

Looks like you’re off to a good start, fine model.

You’ve picked a good forum to join, lots of nice people here.

I’ll throw in my 2cents advice, just have patience and try a technique more than once, you’ll improve each time.

Really nice "clean" first build Kelly. Great paint work, the red over black looks perfect on there.

Thanks appreciate it so much
