Andy Oldenburg Posted Friday at 10:26 AM Posted Friday at 10:26 AM I have built one model so far with working headlamps and tail lights and it was an exiting experience. It does add up on the building time, but time doesn´t count that much to me when I have an idea and vision to get done. This Chevelle was begging to be turned into something special and I was bold enough to try to get as much light and wire into the model as I could. This Revell kit was quit suitable to transform into a show car with extra functions and bling bling. First I opened the top for a targa roof part and the doors. From now on I had to be very careful handling the body because only 4mm rockers were left and the windshield frame was very fragile. BUT.. nothing broke in the building process and that was a first success! I have acquired a big range of Createx Wicked paints and a new pistol to spray them and the metallic paint job was fun! After the decals and the BMF the body was sealed with AK clear gloss. The roof part was first conceived with a "vinyl" matte look, but I then did rather want it glossy to match the body. The hood has a show effect and the suicide doors add a special twist. The interior received some pimping. The head liner, door panels and the bench are covered with 2mm foam rubber and worked with a blade to get that padded effect. The BOSE speakers are second market printed, the bucket seats also (Scale Production). I love to add detail to engines so this machine was granted a printed holley carb. The pulley wheels are connected with thin rubber belts. The engine bay has been upgraded also. The undercarriage has a matching paint job and added parking brake cables. The gas tank is removable (magnets) and hides the cell pack for the lighting. Now comes the BLING! I installed different kinds of LEDs for different effects. The dashboard is lighted with 1mm micro LEDs, the interior with warm 3mm. The tail lights use red micro LEDS and the head lights are a mix for the main and high beam. That´s 14 lights (28 wires), 4 resistors and the cell holder. If you are interested in the details, please check my WIP thread. This was my longest build so far, and I did get into a sweat at times. I am not an experienced electronics guy. But I did have many experiences of success and am very happy about the finished model! If you want to see more I would be pleased if you visit, share or maybe sub my video: https://youtu.be/53BqgwmVQp4 Thanks for giving me your time and attention! Best wishes, Andy! 16

STU111 Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Wow! The amount of scratch building in this project and the thought process behind it is amazing. Stunning. 👍🏻
