RodneyBad Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 Looks Huge. Paint and chrome look good. Nice lights and sirens. Always knew Diecast were good for something. Great looking Ambulance.
Randy Kern Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 I think it looks beautiful! After having built a few R&R resin kits, I can well appreciate the effort you have in it. The '55-late '60s Pontiacs are my favorites. Great paint and detailing. You gotta love all that chrome trim!
Modelmartin Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 Very cool and kudos to you for making an R&R kit look that good. It had to be a labor of love
Eshaver Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 My , how times have changed ! I can well remember when the sight of such a " Professional car " was a common sight too. Very nice work ! Ed Shaver
SteveG Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 Chris, You did a great job with that one. I've seen some of R&R's Ambulances at shows and I can only imagine the work that went into finishing that. Steve
dimaxion Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 Chris, You did a great job with that one. I've seen some of R&R's Ambulances at shows and I can only imagine the work that went into finishing that. Steve I like every part of this build . Well done . You have the talent to do resins . Thanx..
george 53 Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 (edited) BEAUTIFUL BUILD!!!! I too have quite a few R&R kits,an have NEVER had one that DIDN'T need work to look accurate! BUT he does got ALOT of off the wall stuff that you won't find elsewhere. You made that rascal look PERFECT, and I PERSONALLY understand what you had to do to get it lookin that nice! His stuff may need some work to make it look good, but, sometimes he IS the only game in town. Where else ya gonna find a 70 Buick GSX in 25th scale??? Your lil Pontiac looks GREAT! Ya dun REAL good Chris,, I likeses it ALOT!!!! Edited August 18, 2009 by george 53
chrismooney Posted August 18, 2009 Author Posted August 18, 2009 Thanks everyone... as said some R&R's need lots of extra detail but only game in town is a true statment.... Besides the JF 59 Superior Ambulance resin body there are really no other main stream (maby a few on offs that you can pick up on ebay ) resin ambulance kits out there.... I had to use a rear bumper off a 55 cameo pick up as the resin kit one did not fit at all... interesting note if the body looks wide the Coach builders (ambulance and hearse makers) from the classic days made the bodies wider by about 12 inches when they built the rear bodys onto the front car clips... This model is curbside......
cruz Posted August 18, 2009 Posted August 18, 2009 I love these kinds of builds, different but cool, you really did a terrific job on this!!!
chrismooney Posted August 19, 2009 Author Posted August 19, 2009 I forgot to add a head on shot..... and some close ups Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
Ranchwagon Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Excellent build! I can appreciate the effort it took to make an R&R look that good.
cotto Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Wow, we can see the time you put into this, definitely worth the effort though, the thing is gorgeous!
Guest Gramps-xrds Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Pontiac's are my favorite. I've owned several of them over the yrs, till they changed them to generic GMs. You've done a great job on this one. Having never built a resin I don't know what you had to go through but, I can just imagine.
lizardlust Posted August 23, 2009 Posted August 23, 2009 LOVELY job of finishing the R&R piece!! With the maroon finish, it kind of reminds me of that ultra-rare old 1/20th scale Henney Packard promo(possibly made by Cruver?). Simply stunning craftsmanship!!!
