You can't be serious??!!

Star Trek? Seriously???

Uh, that's a lame old TV show and a series of sci-fi movies. They have nothing to do with reality.

Do you realize that most of the latest equipment in medical emergency rooms are based on the star trek vision? And how about this...remember the Star Trek movie about transporting a whale to the future?

That is cool! Nice find there buddy. Now here's the question, can you remember the scientific terminology that Scotty used to describe this material? It was far more complicated than Transparent Alloy.

meh, 2112 was a better album, but not as good as Moving Pictures. :D

2112 was a good album, but I like A Fair Well To Kings better. Also Roll the Bones is good as well. But seriously nothing is going to happen on Dec.21 2012. We'll still be here on this spining dirt ball getting screwed over by our resective goverments and being lied to by everyone else. I just hope that they catch and kill Bin - Ladin by then. ;)

2012? wasn't that going to be the release date for all of the lost JoHan stuff, the lost Aurora stuff, etc. etc. I swear Revell and Round Two are using the Mayan Calendar for setting release dates these days...

If this isn't the most stupid topic posted here to date, it has to be a contender.

:D:huh::rolleyes::lol:;):blink:

If you think this is a stupid topic, then why bother posting here?

Anyway, all comments are certainly welcomed about 2012.

I agree, nothing major's gonna happen. The war in the east will continue, economy will get better I hope by then. Technology will increase and we'll find more junk to spend our money on. :D

Just imagine how cool cars maybe in two years from now! Hopefully the 2012 Honda Insight will be better looking than that of 2010.

"Kirk to Spock."

"I'm sorry, but the Federation Wireless customer you're trying to contact has traveled outside the service area. Please try again later."

Here's a comforting thought. Last night I was watching TV and saw the following adds. First one, was for the Nastrodomous Effect program talking about 2012. Then right afterwards, advertisements about the Olympic games being held in 2016. Four years after the end of that calender. So if we're preparing for games in 2016, than all is good right?

I like this thread. :(

You all know the Free Masons, right? Well here's the skinny:

As philanthropic, but highly mysterious association basing their principals on upright citizenship decide that it is time to initiate the New World Order they have been plotting by secretly shaking hands with the influential western leaders of the 20th and 21st century to finally bring the world together in the name of peace.

However one minor flaw in the plan (somebody forgot to cross a T and it was mistaken for an I), WW3 erupts December 2012 and which causes an inevitable nuclear apocalypse. Humanity is erased and not even cockroaches inherit what is left of a scorched, frozen rock once known as Earth.

--OR-- a new age is ushered in and we all hold hands having a smurfin' good time!

Well for those that think the end is on that year

I propose to put your money where your mouth is.

I bet $1000 if it comes, you win.....any takers.

Oh you people are so negative! LOL!

I believe if you live your life as you should and treat others properly you shouldn't worry about what the future holds or when the world might end.

Well, I like to think positive. I've always had a goal to live to be 150 years old if possible. I'm only 35 so I've got plenty years left. I'm a big Star Trek fan and I believe in it's hidden messages.

Think of the movie Star Trek First Contact. A great movie and one of my favorite Trek films. Got it on the good ol' Tivo. When man-kind realize they are not alone in the universe, things will change for the better. Or, if we do find out we are alone, perhaps we'll be more kind to each other? Hmmmmm?

If we did find out we are alone, it can backfire and we all battle to become master of the universe! ;)

There can be only one!

As a Mason, I take considerable umbrage with the New World Order nonsense.

Contrary to what you and a lot of other people seem to think, Masonry, nor any other fraternal order, are out to take over the world.

Why have there been so many men of note in our Fraternity? Its principles attract those who wish to aim higher.

I've gotten very tired of listening to people or reading all kinds of falsehoods about our fraternity.

Hey Charlie,

No offense was intended. For the record I don't believe a word of the conspiracies. As a matter of fact, I hold a high opinion of Masonry and only disappointed in the fact that I will never amount to the character that Masons posses.

BTW, One thing you link doesn't mention is that Masons apparently can't take a joke.

Didn't the Masons work to keep down the metric system in the US? No, wait, that was the Stonecutters. :o

Just as I did with regard to 01/01/2000. I fully expect to sign on to whatever it is on the web that pulls my chain on 12/22/12. and in addition, see a nice sunrise.

Frankly, how people get sucked into all this urban rumor ###### simply escapes me--was it ME who fell asleep in HS classes, or what?

Notwithstanding all this nonsense about 2012 and all the other lunatic "theories" out there, what really amazes me is how many people apparently think "Star Trek" is anything more than just pop-culture entertainment... :o

Well- the whole Star Trek message is a good one- that one day we'll all live in peace and harmony in a hig-tech, utopian world. I'd love to believe that will happen, but the pragmatist in me screams "BS!!!!" Even if mankind ever lived together n peace and harmony... five minutes later, the Klingons would show up and that would be that! :P

On the other hand, whenever I see somebody with a Bluetooth earbud I think: "Well... Looks like the Borg drones are already here!" :o Sometimes it creeps me out when I think about how reliant upon technology we've become.

BS it is.

Mankind has never lived in peace and harmony, ever... beginning with the first caveman that conked the second caveman on the head with his club and took his wife away, right through to today and the wars going on around the world.

There have been wars going on somewhere on the planet (and many times in many different places simultaneously) continuously since we began keeping track of things... apparently it's human nature to want to fight somebody. I see absolutely no reason to think that human nature will change any time soon. For better or worse, we are what we are. Anyone who thinks that someday soon man will somehow fundamentally change is pretty idealistic (or naive).
