crazyjim
Looking good Dave. I did something similar many years ago using the front & rear fenders from a "37 Chevy kit.
george 53
Dave, where'd ya get the fenders? I used an ol Lil John Buttera kit for my build. It looks ok, but it dom't look NO WHERE as good as yours. Mine used the fenders from the off scale 34 kit(It looks TOO small to be 25th scale)and I filled in the area behind the front wheels. It,and the Chassis, fit well, but it ain't accurate. I REALLY like yours.Did you use the fenders from the Anglia kit? They look familiar, but I jus can't place 'em. But then again, knowin you, ya probly HAND POUNDED them outta somekinda metal!! She's lookin MIGHTY tastey though, can't wait ta see it finished!!! CHR1S619
That a cool car right their. I always see those cars at shows with huge engines. You've done some nice work on it . I can't wait to see the progress.
Dragline
Great car, but the wheels and tires???? Good start on the body though. Make it a big block. Bob F
Peter Lombardo
You are nutz!!! Actually it is a cute little car...Jay Leno has one bone stock...He looks out of place driving it around LA, but it sure gets attention. Now will you finish one of these things? Just one, ok? I think your the last one to figure that out . Actually, I build mostly according to my "mood", and that seems to work pretty well for ME . I never get in a hurry to finish something, but they always get finished - eventually . Of coarse there are always other things I work on that you guys never see. I only work a few hours when I do sit at the bench, especially during the summer when the SUN'S OUT. PART OF ME IS STILL A CALIFORNIAN . Foxer
I love these cars, and fendered is the only way to go. Massachusetts is still basking in the sun after 2 months of rain ... and I have been AFW .. away from workbench.

Whatever strikes my mood gets worked on, and I never hurry when working on them (I have a tendency to change a design on whatever halfway through the build). Part of myself is still a Californian as well... Just a lot harder to surf here!!! Edited September 23, 2009 by Custom Hearse
Hizoot
Soooo for all of you who want to be Californians, TODAY we have 3 wildfires, the Santa Ana winds are starting to blow 25 - 35 mph (a calm day) and it's was 105 degrees right outside my door... COME ON DOWN...! But I love the Topolino Dave, you seem to get around to projects I don't start like the 33 Willys P/U, I have one but only a few hours in it. I also have Anglia fenders but I can't bring myself cutting into Simple Simon yet..! Hizoot

I'd say I was a Californian. And for the Santa Ana winds, and the fires that come with it, I'd been through them since 1963. Just because you live there now and I don't, doesn't give you the right to say that neither Dave nor I are not still Californians at heart. I did struggle myself with cutting up my Anglia, but HEY ??, I can buy another one when I need it, and I have recycled the rest of the body for other projects down the road. Peter Lombardo
I'll bet PETER LOMBARDO still thinks I'M NUTZ . Well, Dave, "Nutz" is in the eye of the beholder......but it is my understanding that "Nutz", is a pre-requisite for creative design and building. What do you think? All the great innovators were nutz....Muntz, Tucker, Big Daddy, etc.....you get the picture.

Also humbling is remembering how my life changed 12 years ago, and the one who's responsible for that change, and a new life of peace, contentment, and serenity. The skills I have, however their seen, are a gift I use to honor the one who has changed my life forever, and given me a love for people, and a joy of life and modeling, to be celebrated with happiness. I have been given a sense of purpose beyond myself and my skills, that fullfills and completes my life. It's nothing I asked for or earned, let alone deserved - It's simply called GRACE AND MERCY. UN-DESERVED LOVE - UN-DESERVED FORGIVENESS .
Raul_Perez
Now that's one pretty cool looking hotrod that you've got there, Dave!! Where do you get all of those oversized tires and wheels?? Later,
Bernard Kron
The basic design of that Topolinp is so "right" that those wheels and tires actually look "right" sitting under it. I'd love to see it done simply with one of your trademark bright poaint jobs and call it good. Very cool!

A pretty stock body, with the running boards you see in the pics, a complete race/street chassis, full drive-line, and a nice interior. Probably cut the doors open too, like I'll do the hood, and add hinges and those tiny magnets to hold them closed - THEY'RE COOL COLOR?? - I'm not sure. BRIGHT PAINT?? WHAT ELSE ??? HEY RAUL You asked where do I get my wheels and tires. Over the years I've collected a lot of die-cast that I remove parts from for my build's, including the wheels/tires. Here's a sample of some I have collected and get to choose from. Edited September 23, 2009 by Treehugger Dave
