Chuck Most Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 The "El Ponchero" works pretty well as a real vehicle!
Joker Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Your art is what dreams are made of. The forgotten warrior is my favorite and all the ones used in the magazines, awesome.. any dreams of 36 fords floating around? thank you for sharing. James
roadhawg Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 Got any Tri-5 T-Birds? I need some inspiration for '57 project I been puttin' off.....
Chuck Most Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Rust, whitewalls, moon tank, 6 carbs... yeah, that works!
Mercman Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 I call this one "The Forgotten Warrior".
Mercman Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Here's one of my W.I.P. doodles, it's too big to fit in my scanner so I had to take a pic....it's titled " Don't need no helmet!" God that brings back memories. My ex ol lady and the bike I had are now in Montana. She hated the bike. Something about the rear seat. ( It was a P pad style on a rigid frame).
Jairus Posted January 29, 2010 Author Posted January 29, 2010 jarius I just snagged this one, as I believe it would make a great dio. With your permission of course. Go for it, you don't need my permission to build any model! Only time permission is required is if you are going to reproduce the actual artwork.
Corvette.Jeff Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Got any corvettes? preferably c4's? Thanks,Jeff
Modlbldr Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 Jairus- Didn't you do a drawing of a monocolor green 64 Galaxie with a 427 sans hood? Later-
Jairus Posted February 6, 2010 Author Posted February 6, 2010 Got any corvettes? preferably c4's? Thanks,Jeff Very few Corvette's have I illustrated. But I like this one... Jairus- Didn't you do a drawing of a monocolor green 64 Galaxie with a 427 sans hood? Later- Fairlane... yes!
CB Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Very cool Jairus! Kinda sprint car, single seater lookin' Vette! What's the front end look like?
Jairus Posted February 6, 2010 Author Posted February 6, 2010 Never illustrated the front. Your guess is as good as mine I suppose. If I had to work one up it would be sort of like a Saberjet
Modlbldr Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Jairus- That's the photo of the Fairlane (Sorry) I was thinking about. I've got it mocked up on those wheels ready to be started once I finish my 70 1/2 Camaro convertible (in primer, to be painted this week)and possibly my 60 Starliner drag car with 427. I'm starting to see a theme to my builds. I'll have to call them the "Watson Collection". Later-
Abell82 Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 What color is the Fairlane supposed to be? I am having trouble finding a similar color.
Jairus Posted February 7, 2010 Author Posted February 7, 2010 Jason, I kind of felt it was a slight bit brighter than "Seafoam Green" which is a '50s color and not an available enamel paint color. Closest thing to whats available might be Model Master 50's Aqua #2942.
Jairus Posted February 8, 2010 Author Posted February 8, 2010 Since big "G" is now a Mustang owner I decided to post a few ponys.
Modlbldr Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 Jairus- Here is a few shots of the 70 1/2 Camaro Convertible that you drew up a while ago. I just pulled the masking off from painting the stripes. It isn't exactly like the drawing but it was your idea that gave me the inspiration. Hopefully I'll have it finished soon. I want to enter it in a local contest April 17th. I hope you like it. Next is to paint and install the visors and final assembly and polish. Later-
Smart-Resins Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 Very nice job on that! I still like that revell stang. I am using that on my drag forum. HEHEHE. Jody
Jairus Posted February 14, 2010 Author Posted February 14, 2010 Great work on that Camaro Tom. I think I like the look of the Maroon stripes better than the black! This is how I submitted the piece to SAE. They had run a similar sketchpad a year earlier with a Faux Pontiac ad (Or was that in MCM?) but editor Kirk Bell would only allow the Camaro convt alone and definitely would not allow the Chevrolet logo. So... that is how it ran in SAE. When I told Gregg he just snorted. This image is rarely seen...
Modlbldr Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 Wow! I like that ad. How can I save that to a bookmark? I can't seem to copy it. Can you PM that to me when You get a chance? Later-
Jairus Posted February 14, 2010 Author Posted February 14, 2010 Just Right-Click on the image and you should get an option to save on your hard drive.
