OK Jairus-

I have a question on another one I've started. Years ago I saw a drawing of a 61 Bel Air wagon done as a driver's rear 3/4 view. The artist had used an additional bubble top to extend the roof. Was that also your drawing?

I began building one of it but using the 62 Bel Air. It has the bodywork completed and that's as far as I got.

No more Phantom ad's that I know of. But that is a good idea for a future SketchPad huh?

Yeah that was mine. Printed in one of the last issues of Plastic Fanatic I believe. I searched my computer for an hour and could not find the image. If I run across it I will post. Got to be somewhere.....

I thought that it must be one of yours. It looked like it from what I can remember. So, that makes 5?, I think. They are:

70 1/2 Camaro

62 Bel Air Wagon

65/97 Mustang

64 Fairlane

60 Starliner Drag Car

I'd also like to do your 06 Mustang Revell Drag car and your 62 T-Bird (futuristic silver car with glass top.)

The Starliner is just about done. All I have to do is a final paint and polish, BMF and make air intake tubes for the carbs. It has been stalled for probably 12 years and I'm SO close.

I sure wish that I could find a set of 17/19 inch wheels like that on the Mustang.Any ideas. None of the newer Mustangs have the right centers. Mine are some that I made using the centers from the new Cal Wheels 60 Impala, some big and little tires from the patrs box and Pegasus 23 inch aluminum sleves. I still need to paint the centers.I saw an Ebay listing from PSF hobbies that looked like the right size tires. I may search those out.

Ink pen and acrylic paints with an airbrush. Then a little artists markers for details and a very little colored pencil for effect.

Is there a kit available of a 1962 Mercury Comet? I generally only do drawings for the mag that are of subjects in scale and available recently. I have not done any in the past but if a kit is coming I will certainly consider it.

Kaleb, the acrylics I use are made by "Golden" but you can use pretty much anything including Createx and model car paints! Just thin everything to the consistence of water. Very thin when airbrushing on paper.

I paint on Strathmore Bristol ONLY. This is because it takes the frisket masking material well and allows cutting the mask right on the paper with-out going through.

Tom, I finally found it! Knew I would eventually.... I offered it up to Dave for the challenge so if you keep it under your hat and ask him soon... you could have an additional reason to build it. But my personal opinion is you should start over with a '61!

I have been a huge fan of yours and all of the talented artists that have been featured in the magazines you mentioned, so am keen to see what other folks request. Great idea!

There was an artist I remember, (I believe he's now deceased). His name was Brian Borden. I recall a piece he did which featured a 59 Ford Retractable, (I think) black in color, with a guitar and pair of boots posed nearby. That piece has been stuck in my memory bank since the first time I saw it. It has always been my intention to recreate that car. Perhaps, if you guys have access to any of Brian's art you might post some of those.

Anyhow, my two cents worth. Again love the work you and the others create. Keep providing the rest of us with your artistic inspiration.

Mike, I have always loved the work of Brian Borden, including his contributions to Revell kits of the day. It would have been great to have him still today producing art and inspiring us. His demise was way too soon!!!

Nope. Went to Car Modeler back in the day and I never saw the original art ever again. Highland Productions didn't return it and so the only place you can see it is in the printed pages. Sorry....

Great to see a magazine Artist here on MCM. I've always been a fan of your work. I too am an artist , but never chased my dreams. I have done quite a few 1/1 air brush murals and have drawn for sometime know. My question is I have been drawing blanks for some new stuff I want to build. I have a 68 Impala which was converted from a 67. Any Ideas ......your help is greatly appreciated. Ohh loved your 48 BomB Art work.

That is beautiful. Just curious. Why didn't you put snow on the roof and snow and ice cycles on the scoop. Looks like it was parked over the weekend lol. Just wondering?
