everything is bagged separately..

Nice..

Some Flash but not too bad but paid $19 bucks for it.

Nice kit. I bought a '73 off the showroom in April '73

it was gold with a white stripe, slapstick auto, 4bbl,

360 cu in made in Canada. Also had a Road Runner on the

stripe behind the door post and trunk and hood if memory serves

me right. Had the car for about 6 weeks, ended up totaled out

when I missed a sharp curve, oh well to be 20 again. What I

really like was the buckets, have never found seats as comfortable

as those! I'll definitely buy one for "nostalgia" if nothing else. :D

I have a couple notes on this kit too. I do not understand why the cartoon bird is not represented on the decal sheet, when Warner Brothers owns the right to Dukes AND the Road Runner cartoon. The decal sheet would be a 10 if not for that fact. On the positive side, there are plates for the Plymouth and the General Lee, some fun bumper stickers for the Boar's Nest and "My other car is the General Lee" and all the stripe colors. The tire are stamped Goodyear and all the parts are bagged seprately. Chuck, it is wonderful how nicely the '71 Charger fits under this car.

nice kit id like to see a 73 four door if that was ever made : :)

sry guys i had a massive brain fart .. i did forget there were 4 doors but had a look of there own.

unlike the erlier cars witch all looked the same...wether a 2 or 4 door.....

If you want a four door Plymouth, all you need do is start with a Joker Goon car Monaco, (TJ Hooker, Roscoe) that will give you the roof line, doors, and interior and chassis.

The rest is up to your modeling skills.

Wouldn't happen to have anything to do with the iffy rust-proofing and the already-more-prone-to-rust Japanese steel that Chrysler was using a lot of during that time, would it?

yes the exhaust is molded in same as the red 74 gtx that was made in the 80s but i think everyone knows that by now i had 2 1974 Satellite Sebrings i loved those cars they were nice looking cars.

does anybody know if the kit that says daisys road runner on the box it shows bo,luke and daisy on the box it shows the mpc logo on the bottom corner is that a corrected kit or is it still the amt/ertl kit with wrong chassis and interior i have a chance 2 get a couple of them real cheap.

I just received the mpc round two daisy duke road runner and so far Im not happy with it.

problems.

1.bad mold lines on the body(roof meets quarter and some on rocker)but I can fix that.

2.The chrome is not good quality at all,it would need to be stripped and coated to be perfect

3.Body is very flimsy and the plastic is very thin.

4.The engine compartment and firewall has absolutely no detail to resemble the real thing.

5. the front suspension is already molded to the chassis and the rear is just the metal rod.

and finally 6. the exhaust is molded to the chassis.

so..so far Im not happy with it.... I was going to build it but now I think I might just use it for parts or something. What do you think?

Thanks -Cole

It is what it is..a 40 yr old MPC kit that has been reissued a few times and the tooling is probably worn.

I know what your'e saying, mpc said it was new tooling and new and improved better detail lol but I guess I should of not trusted that.

When/where did they say that? I've never seen it billed as anything but a straight reissue. Nothing on the box says anything about it being new.

amazon, where I bought it stated that it had a new and improved dash and chassis. I see it in the dash but the chassis I just thought it would have more detail, I guess I shouldn't of assumed. not trying to start anything-just saying what it is in case anyone else were to buy one

The so-called "improved dash and chassis" were merely a corrective measure , as the RC2 (et al.) issue from the early 2000's had the dash from a 1975-1978 Dodge / Plymouth 'B'-body , and the exhaust from the same (single exhaust with a catalytic converter ... the biggest offence in my mind ! ). So , Round2 *simply* added the 'correct' 1971-1974 dash , and the same under-detailled "generic" chassis from its 1968-ish through 1974 promo / kit line .

Thankyou very much for clearing that up for me 1972 coronet and I did not know I could update the kit using a different chassis, Thankyou

No problem , Fast Fish :) . Back in 2004 , I remember being appalled at the inclusion of 1975 & later dash and chassis upon opening my 1974 Road Runner . I thought , Oh , well , at least I've got some spare 1971 MPC Road Runner dash boards around , as well as one or two MPC 1969 Charger chassis , so ...

I also added the brake booster / master cylinder and a few other parts from the AMT '71 Charger to the 1974 kit's plain engine compartment , just to dress it up .

Our fellow 'Plastic Fanatic' , Luc Janssens , gets credit for mentioning the AMT 1971 Charger R/T for its chassis , etc. , as the perfect amphiviate for the Dukes' Road Runner's generic chassis . :)
