Guest Sickfish Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 (edited) Hi guys, building this 'Cuda for my girl. Not doing major detail, just fixed up the poor fittment issues associated with the front/rear valances, ( molded them on before painting), & colour choice was her's. It's nail polish lacquer, white pearl over blue pearl. Body has been polished out & Bmf'ed. Wheels were her choice too, from my spare parts box, 06 Camaro. Will have more pics, of the chassis etc up soon. Thanks, Cliffo! Edited February 15, 2010 by Sickfish
Jeff Sauber Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Very nice!!....Love that paint combination.....Looks real clean.
jbwelda Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 marry her, then you will get to build/finance a 1:1!
george 53 Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 BEAUTIFUL color combo! Never saw a 2 toned fastback, but yours is nice! your sweetie has NICE color taste! It'll look REAL good when your done!!!!
charlie8575 Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 What a pretty combination. That your girlfriend not only tolerates, but asks you to build something for her, is indeed a rare prize! Great work so far. Charlie Larkin
Zoom Zoom Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Looks great I need to find some of that blue.
diymirage Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 thats amazing between the wheels, paint and smooth body that looks like a 2010 cuda i strongggggggggly suggest slapping in a drivetrain from a 09 challenger RT
Marc @ MPC Motorsports Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Duuude!!! That is one "sick" fish!!! Smooth and slick...love the colors too.
Harry P. Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 i agree with the gang 1,000%. That is one sweet looking Barracuda. Fantastic!
gilsdropshop1 Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 real sweet Cuda, i wish my girl would help me out with color choice too, your girl has real good choice in colors NOW just throw in that big "bad boy" Hemi!
Guest Sickfish Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 (edited) Wow!! & thankyou all for your compliments!! jbwelda...as much as i love my Mopars, i wouldn't want this particular E-Body, i'm much more of a B-Body guy.... i'm trying my best to get a '68 RT out of the "girl"!! Lol! Charlie, my girl not only tolerates my model building & picking colours....she's actually had a hand or 2 in this build....i let her do the easy stuff, like sanding, sanding & sanding..... ...oh & since she did a real good job i let her paint the hood Lol! Diymirage & gilsdropshop...bad news on the Hemi. I won't be dropping the elephant in between the rails on this Barra'. I'm just using the kit supplied 383. I've got way too much work on the bench, which is more detailed stuff & i really couldn't be bothered to start getting carried away, like i normally do, with this build. The girl is happy to have the 383 & i'm just as happy to leave it that way....i do have another 1 of these kits though.... Zoom Zoom....don't know if you'll be able to get the blue colour, as it's a custom mix. I added blue pearl powder to the nail polish she chose...so it's kind of a custom colour. Sorry mate....but i'm real sure a man of your talent & experience can prob' mix & lay paint better than i Cheer's eveyone & i'll have more pics as soon as i can! Cliffo! VW Dave Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Cliffo - What can I say that hasn't already been said? I also love the color combo, and it sure looks the business from where I'm sitting. I'm really looking forward to more updates. jbwelda...as much as i love my Mopars, i wouldn't want this particular E-Body, Not trying to split hairs here, but...I'm pretty sure the Cuda wasn't an E-body until 1970; that one is still on the A-body platform.
James Flowers Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 I agree with all the comments here. That is beautiful.

You lucky so-and-so.....! She have any like-minded sisters or friends willing to move stateside???? Charlie Larkin
pharr7226 Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 WOW! That's a beautiful paint job. Tell your girl that she did a nice job on the hood. LOL.
crazyjim Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Super slick paint job, Cliff. Looks as if you can end the nail polish thinning issue - what did you use to thin the nail polish? Acrylic enamel reducer? Lacquer thinner?
Guest Sickfish Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 VWDave, you're right mate, it's an A-Body. It was just a reflex calling this 69 an E-body. Charlie, unfortunately she doe's have a sister or 2 but both are....married ...sorry mate! As far as what thinner i use for nail-polish...just standard automotive premium thinner. I thin with the ratio of 1:1, as nail polish is quite thick & actually sprays better the thinner it is Cheer's everyone & thanks, Cliffo!
rustybill1960 Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 WOW sweet paint very nice choice will be watching thanks for sharing later man
Sixties Sam Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 Nice! I like the way you've done the two tone color scheme. Looks good!
Space Cowboy Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 Ok Ok It's a great two tone paint that is a clean and shiny. The paint job is outstanding.
Peter Lombardo Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 Wow, that is a really great looking mild custom. The paint combination looks perfect on this one. I think this body style 'Cuda is one of the most under appreciated cars on the road. Looks beautiful and the Camaro wheels were a perfect choice on it too.
Guest Sickfish Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 (edited) Hi guys & thanx!! Here's some updated pics. Got the front/rear windscreen in, the front grill & rear tail-light . I've had 2nd thought's on just having the rear painted & am going to pull it out ( it's not glued in place ) and give it the BMF treatment, to match the windscreen chrome/wheels...it would obviously look better! Cheer's Cliff * bonus pics * '69 GTX Convertible i'm also working on Edited January 31, 2010 by Sickfish
whale392 Posted January 23, 2010 Posted January 23, 2010 I think I just messed my screen. Outstanding application of the paint and great attention to detail. Beautiful builds a pair!
